The television show Cops stopped filming in Cincinnati today after council members objected to what the show might depict.
Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher changed his mind Thursday about letting the Fox TV show crews continue to film, which they had started Tuesday.

Here in Houston, the bad guys do that too. Luckily, we haven't had any cops killed...yet. But every police impersonator home invasion around here has been met with gunfire, so it is probably only a matter of time.
The Jerry Springer syndrome?
Bump.
I live near a small town, and I've noticed that special forces look as well.
My dealings w/ police (the usual traffic stop) have been w/ the older guys, and I've always been treated respectfully. I'd rather not have even a traffic encounter w/ the rambo-types.
Police are supposed to be yelling their identity and that they have a warrant.
Police tend to be totally insane. Conflicting orders, 2 seconds to respond or you're slammed. Never happened to me, but I have had a few run ins with the police. One was a false DUI (I had an epileptic seizure) and another one over depression issues I was having.
Both times were very unpleasant.
...bend over when they tell me,bark like a chihuaha, let them search me and my car(what do I have to hide?),and generally treat them like the superior beings that they are...
Queen City Ping
Fortunately they are uncommon - but we tend to remember the bad more often than the good.
Well I try to say to say "yes" and "no" to their questions and basically keep a non-hostile attitude. They typically respond with a non-hostile attitude, or at least a much-less-hostile attitude. You might give it a try some time.
It helps that I drive a cool car (my '68 convertible). Cops like old cars as much as anyone, maybe more, so my encounters are usually smooth -- usually with no bending over involved.
I have serious problems with DeWine. Something about him just is not right.
What are the chances of a cop being there when someone with a shotgun is kicking down my door?
This is NOT the case.
Guide To The Interstate Transportation Of Firearms
What about the states that that have concealed carry reciprocity statutes for ccw permit holders from states, are they in violation of federal law too?
It has been my experience that many LEO's are not as well versed in the law as they like to think they are.
I believe there are ways to carry fire arms legally, but I think it requires permits. There is a federal charge for transporting firearms interstate, though someone has posted a disgreement with me along with links to other information. Manufacturers and dealers do transport firearms across statelines constantly, but they jump through a lot of hoops legally speaking to do this. This is not going to be any different for private citizens. The Patriot Act has changed many things that were once true. These laws are going to probably be a little more stringent for private citizens due to the Government's obvious lack of trust for citizens and guns. The things that will most likely be different for you as opposed to say a dealer or manufacturer is the number and scope of weapons allowed to be transported. I strongly recommend you speak to your local law enforcemnt agnecy and perhaps a lawyer to see what and to what extent guns can be transported. Please remember, this mistrust is not entirely misplaced. There are very good reasons for many of the restrictions.
Hey, It looks like I'm cool in N.C.! Thanks S&L!
I'd be interested in knowing which provision of the Patriot Act affects the interstate transportation of firearms. Do you know which section of the Patriot Act contains those provisions?

I have not really studied the Patriot Act to its fullest yet, to be frankly honest. I know many things that were once allowed on planes as everyday household and personal hygiene items are now absolutely forbidden. This is something all concerned citizens need to look in to themselves. Examples of the above mentioned household items, when entering court no one carrying cigarette lighters, finger nail clippers, small sewing scissors or bottled liquids of any kind are allowed in the court room. All of these things were at one time considered OK to be carried in to the court room.
