Linda Ronstadt: Impeach Bush 'Right Away'

1970's songbird Linda Ronstadt, best known for her torch song-style and mellow ballads, is working overtime these days trying to persuade her fellow Arizonans that it's time to dump President Bush "right away."

In an interview broadcast on Saturday, Ronstadt was in the middle of explaining to WABC Radio's Mark Simone why she prefers living in Arizona to Los Angeles or New York, when she added one caveat.

"The politics are very conservative here and I'm not conservative. I'm having a hard time sometimes convincing people that we need to vote for a new president," she offered.

When Simone begged to differ, the singer insisted, "We need a different president right away, I think. I think we should impeach this one [rather than wait for] the next election."

Asked if she could support Sen. John Kerry despite his admission that he committed war crimes in Vietnam, Ronstadt told Simone, "I don't know about that? He might be a little more understanding of what these guys [U.S. GIs in Iraq] are going through."

I wonder if she knows that the cross worn around her neck is a death sentence for her in most of our enemies lands?

She looks a little like Desiree Cousteau in that picture.

Not that that's a bad thing.

The best I could say to Linda, it that :

"You and I travel to the beat of a different drum..."

Linda, you're stuck with the same old tired liberal beat, and about you,

"...honey child, I've got my doubts
You can't see the forest for the trees..."

So goodbye, you should be leavin'
I see no sense in your crying and grieving
And I'll live a lot longer, without you buggin' me

I regret the money I spent buying Linda Ronstadt's records in the 60's and 70's.

But if Bush is impeached (highly unlikely in the present circumstances), Dick Cheney becomes President....
Is this the reason the Clinton's impeachment didn't make it through the Senate? Fear of Al Gore as president?

My husband is from Tucson and just said he first saw her play at his H.S., Sal Pointe.

The good news is one of her cousins is active in local politics, and he is a Republican.

Hey Eddie, how come I have to do all the work? ;-)

Heres a pic of Miss Cousteau, star of late 1970's adult hit "Red Hot Pizza Girls".

Yes, the one's accused of abusing prisons...John Kerry, self professed war criminal, would understand that very well.

I loved Linda Rondstadt before she fell in love with herself. Her Mexican period was embarrassing.

Why do people who take millions from the common people so dense? She's not very educated is she? Do you think she fried some brain cells with drugs way back when...?

I don't know about the brain cells, but I'd bet the ranch she's fried some potatoes.

You gotta love liberals.

They want to impeach the other guy's president when they have no legal basis whatsoever, and they call it a "witch hunt" when their impeached guy belongs in Sing-Sing.

Was it her brother that was Tucson police chief a number of years back? We had followed the mining jobs to Nevada by then but I seem to recall having heard that.

Yes, Pete Ronstadt is Linda's brother and was Police Chief at one point. Fred is the cousin and is currently the Vice Mayor of Tucson.

Geeze, now my husband tells me our brother-in-law painted Linda's bathroom. LOL

Linda has faleen into the "Shut up and Sing" category for now.

One more episode like this and she'll be going into the "smashed into a million pieces" (Dixie Chicks) category.

I am from Superior and worked there and at San Manuel but we always loved Tucson. We got our Sunday clothes at Jacome's or Steinfelds (sp?), would eat at G&M (Mecha's now), Me Neditos, L&L, Santa Fe or Little Abner's. I can't remember the dance club's name on Miricle Mile but Jimmy Vindola from Douglas played great Latin Jazz. Other restraunts were Ye Olde Lantern, La Fuente and Northwoods. We miss it and don't think Oregon, where we are now matches up. I would love to walk into La Jolla to have a beer and see if anyone killed me again. LOL
