It has come to this. In discussing Iraq, the Abu Ghraib abuses and the beheading of Nick Berg, Katie Couric summarized the situation in this way:
"It seems like it's become of question of who is the lesser of two evils."
That's right. Katie Couric wondered aloud who might be more evil - Al Qaeda, which, in addition to beheading Nick Berg, murdered 3,000 innocent people on 9/11, or the United States of America.
And please don't imagine for a second that Matthews came to the defense of the US. When Katie asked Matthews for his reaction to the statement from Sen. Zell Miller to the effect that the Abu Ghraib prisoners had underwear put on their heads whereas Berg was left with no head, Matthews completely, yes completely, ignored Berg's beheading.
His answer was entirely devoted to condemning the US for actions that made us look like 'perverts.'
Can Today, Katie Couric and Chris Matthews sink any lower? I suppose anything is possible, but they are going to have to work hard at it after this morning's despicable performance.
I have permanently given up Katie Colonic and the rest of The Today Show. I watch our local NBC affiliate until 7:00 a.m. and then switch to Fox.
Interestingly, a very lie'bral co-worker told me yesterday she can't stand Katie any more. She was really incensed over Katie asking a neighbor "how is the Berg family doing?"
Gotta admit, it's a stupid question.
This is depressing to awake to, but once again you provide a service by informing us of just what is going through the addled heads out there.
It is sad and scary and sickening...to witness this type of bizarre thinking.
It wouldn't even move them to point out this was not "the U.S." but a rogue group who did the activities in the prison. The likes of Katie and Chris are determined to make this, as you note, an issue of "we're just as bad as them...maybe worse!"
Sickening
Heheh, see my post 98 :) Already caught that one. Asking for confirmation of the precise wording :)

You know, my first reaction was to send my thoughts to Ms perky but then I remembered it is best not to interrupt ones enemies when they're making mistakes. The more outrageous they become the easier it will be for the "less attentive" ones to recognize the hypocrisy and distortion. Hopefully.
Does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live skit from years ago? A dimwit hostette was interviewing an actress portraying Corey Aquino, the President of the Phillipines. The hostette asked "so, how's your husband?", to which a shocked Aquino answered "he was assassinated!" The hostette, trying to recoup, asked "Oh. So, are you dating?"
She was educated by the NEA in the north east. That's as deep as it gets. 'Bout as deep as soap film on a dinner plate.
he said al Qaeda is probably as dangerous as Bush and Rumsfeld.
Who also said the above, or something very similar? Was it Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, or another news/Hollywood fool? I've heard it before.
That's it. Give 'em all the rope they want.
Wrong.
If their celebrity role models get all fired up and outraged about something in the minds of The Sheep, then this issue must be important, and that's the point of view they must adopt - how coul dtheir celebrity role model be wrong?
The Sheep can't recognize hypocrisy and distortion, uless it's pointed out to them. And the Left ALWAYS points to The Right as hypocrites and decievers.
The Sheep are pathetic herd animals who will always follow the loudest bell.
And George Bush will lose in November, because of them.
...and someone has to do it for the very reason u suggest, and some of are grateful that you have taken up that cross.
U are too kind.
That already happened. 30 Rock is about 50 blocks from WTC.
Sincere thanks, though in my case it might be more accurate to refer to a Star of David!
And if they take this liberal elitist POV out into the real world with them it will get pointed out to them. In a most unsettling way. Then, as the sheeple they are, they will turn around and blame the media idol that led them down this treasonous path.
Yep, the "Ideologically Correct" Conservatives "got mad" at Bush-41 and stayed home or voted for Perot, thus helping to elect the Clintons. (It's the voters; it's always the voters.)
Sounds like a prophecy to me. We will remember in Novemember what Old Sarge had to say, and hope that we can laughingly and in friendship say, "he was wrong" and boy are we ever glad he was wrong.
and asked........... Now which one is the real monster?
I got something like this......BOTH.
Now, while I think that those few military people should get a swift kick in the behind and busted from the miliary after doing some real HARD social services somewhere, then sent on their way, I DO NOT believe them to be monsters! Stupid? Sick? Angry? Sex-crazed perverts? Porno-wannabes? An embarrassment? Probably, but NOT monsters compared to the brutality of the others.
Couric....the Rosie O'Donnell of the Today Show....
Thanks back at ya, and PS, love that "evidence" page you are building. Just imagine Al-Katy before a military tribunal with your page as evidence of her peculiar activities. Do I hear Al-Katy begging in the background. I wish.
