It was Nick Berg who was murdered because he read off his name, his mother and father's name, his brother and sister's name, where he lived, etc. before they sawed off his head.

He wasn't CIA. Our FBI would have never bothered to interview his family here in the U.S. last month if he was CIA. He wouldn't have been in Iraq with an American passport that had an Israeli visa stamp in it, either.

He may have been what he said that he was: a simple contractor in Iraq. He may, big may, have been working for terrorists (knew Moussoui in college, has an Iraqi in-law, has an ANSWER dad, worked on tall towers at Abu Ghraib prison while the Iraqi insurgents were shelling it, etc.).

Another strange thing. If you look at the image of Berg's body on the bridge, it is dressed in civilian clothing. Would his killers have re-dressed him to be dumped on a bridge after cutting off his head? He was wearing an orange jumpsuit at the time of his death.

Having read every post in this thread, that is my conclusion. The guy was an idealistic young man, who perhaps reached out to Arabs while in school who brushed against some unsavory characters, then later went to one of the most unruly places on Earth and paid the price.

Maybe I'm naive but I don't think there is anything to this except strange coincidences.

I have not seen the video but I think it is just too out there to suggest this isn't Berg. His DNA would have proved that positively.

Whatever reason he was in Iraq I am still angry at his gruesome death. If he was an ANSWER member as his father, his father will need to live with himself for leading his son to that fate. I would think that is a punishment worse then beheading.
