Wow!
I heard somewhere that on his first trip to Iraq that Berg worked on the tower outside of Abu Ghraib prison. So you're saying that he could not have been working alone? I'd like to know more about his work the first time he was there. Local sources say that he was agitated about this trip, that his father did not want him to go.
In the book The Third Terrorist, it is said that despite popular opinion, investigators don't believe the box cutters used in 9/11 were brought onboard by the terrorists, but rather put in food handling containers. The terrorists onboard the planes knew where they would be and took it from there.
That's really all I know. The book was outstandingly well researched. I borrowed the book from someone and intend to buy it.
"Sharing an e-mail account and a password is an excellent way to send messages without any chance that they will be intercepted. The message never leaves the original server. Nobody would ever know that you were communicating with anyone but yourself. So you send a message to yourself and the other guy with the password gets it. Simple and untraceable e-mails. The only way that the e-mails could be traced is if the FBI happend to search both users computers. Thus even though the FBI had the e-mails from Mossoui's computer, they could not know where they came from unless they searched the sender's computer. In this case it appears they searched one of Berg's computers and found the link."
Just another co inkidence!
Yeah sure! Good work! Again, you live up to your Freeper login/namesake!
I just did a google search and came up with a name: Michael Brescia, the son of William Brescia, a fireman in Philadelphia. Some suspected at one point that he was John Doe #2. It's been so long since I looked into these details that I don't remember more. Since I live in the Philadelphia area, I remembered him because of the local connection.
It depends on the type of work. If he were doing tower contstuction or tower repair, then it would be nearly impossible to do the work alone. If he were installing antennas or doing maintenance, then he could work alone, but it would be dangerous. But if he were doing maintenance or antenna installations, I doubt he could be making $70,000 per month as was reported on another thread. You don't make that kind of money turning wrenches by yourself even at 900 feet Above Ground Level even in a war zone. That kind of money would only be available contractors on huge projects.
I serously doubt if Harris Company (which was contracted by the military to do this work in Iraq) is cumulatively netting $70,000 per month on all the projects being done in Iraq.
Oh ok, thanks for the info. I missed seeing it posted. Easy to do with so much info to absorb about this.
Michael Berg also told AP that Nicholas' paternal aunt, now deceased, married an Iraqi man named Mudhaffar, who became close to Nicholas. In one of the emails, Nicholas Berg describes going to the northern city of Mosul, where he had met Mudhaffar's brother, identified as Muwaffaq Mustafa.
"We got along splendidly," Berg wrote. "We spent a few hours and I helped him establish an email account."
Berg notes that "my presence ... made him more concerned (about his own safety and probably mine too) than I've been the entire time I've been here."
Weird! I wonder what made them think he was John Doe #2? I hadn't heard anything about him before.

I saw that posted yesterday, and it didn't make any sense to me either. Here's how to make some sense out of it: it was too dangerous for Nick Berg to be seen by 'certain people' being safely escorted to the airport by the US military. Apparently Nick's idea of dangerous, is different from ours.
Time to pick up some of that extra heavy duty foil that one uses on a bbq grill.
Senor didn't look embarassed, but rather said they were trying to determine the reason for the....confusion. I got the distinct impression that there is something bogus about that e-mail, but have no TV today (babysitting) and haven't followed the news on Fox since early this morning.
I have spent about two hours on this thread between helping my wife with a family emergency back in the midwest.
The aroma of bad stuff keep waifing in. The trolls on FR keep trying to say nothing is happening, just move on like on past threads where their buddies with Islamofascists were being exposed.
I forget now. You could find out through googling. I think that he was one of several suspects and I have no idea if he is still one by those who believe that there was a JD #2. It would be interesting to see if Jayna Davis has written anything about this young man.
I've seen something around here stating that he was taking pictures. When I saw that, coupled with all the other coincidences about this whole thing, I had a true tinfoil thought.
We all know that Berg was up on a communications tower in Abu Graib. We also know that there wasn't a rule some of these soldiers wouldn't break in that prison. What if Nick became chummy with some of these soldiers, and they invited him in for a tour. He tours and snaps pics. You all know which pics I'm talking about. Would the dates work out? These soldiers were hamming it up for the camera for someone's benefit, no doubt about that. Many of us have speculated about who would take those damning pics and then leak them.
If indeed Nick was working to help the Iraqis, what a goldmine this would be. Talk about undermining Bush and Rumsfeld.
Okay don't throw rotten fruit at me.
This would tend to be inline with their tactics. Remember that not all of the hijackers knew they were going to die. Remember Osama laughing at the fact that his followers were not aware they were going on a suicide mission when they hijacked the planes.
These animals will kill thier own, without blinking an eye.
That is what his father said in an interview, "They didn't know Nick was their best friend." What's up with that?
