The problem is mixing them in with combat soldiers just doesn't work.

Sounds more and more like the units running the prison were not your regular combat soldiers and combat soldiers shouldn't be judged by the actions of a bunch of rejects that walked off of the set of Stripes. I've served around plenty of combat troops (both Army and Marines), and maybe I just didn't see a large enough sampling, but all of them I saw were well-disciplined and conducted themselves in a manner that these misfits couldn't even fake.

This shouldn't be turned into a women in the military problem (not saying you are, just some are doing this to distract from what happened). All should follow the UCMJ and conduct themselves properly. Doesn't matter whether they are male or female. If they can't follow regulations, then they have no business being there.

I have a daughter serving, as well as female relatives. They were all raised much better than this.

Our military police did not order them to engage in those acts. Our military intelligence did not order them to engage in those acts. Nor did their commanding officers.

They *only* explanation is that these troops were out of control. They filmed themselves nude. They filmed their prisoners nude. They used their own personal cameras to film and email all of the above. They were not issued government cameras for these acts. They were not ordered to use their own cameras for these acts.
