Mr. President, Please Speak to the World for the Right and Just American People
Mr. President, the American People need to hear your voice. The American People need to hear you express our outrage over the brutal butchering of Nick Berg. The American People need to hear you express our determination to destroy and kill such barbaric evil. The American People need to hear you say in implacable terms that the terrorist needs to fear us; that we will destroy the terorrist wherever they are; that he will no longer be able to seek refuge in so-called holy places; that their brand of evil has defiled the so-called holy place far beyond even its destruction. The American People need to hear you say that we will honor Mr. Berg, the brave troops in uniform, those who have given the “last full measure of devotion”, and those families who have endured such unbearable grief. The American People need to hear you speak of those generations who sacrificed so greatly and who passed the torch to us – to be caretakers for the next.
But, Mr. President, you need not say this to the American People. You know how we feel. Rather, the American People need to hear you say these things to the world. Tell the world that we are not afraid of enraging the Muslim world. We need to hear you tell the world that this brand of evil wants nothing less than the apocalyptic destruction of civilized people. It need not be framed in religious overtones – we know that there are many sensibilities regarding this. But the world must be informed that we are in a death struggle between good, civilized people and evil barbarians. And these barbarians are bent on the complete slaughter of innocents in the name of their Allah. And, it will only end with the total annihilation of one side or the other. The world needs to know the American People have chosen – all terrorists will be killed. The world must hear you say that we will honor countless great Americans – past, present and future.
Mr. President, when you tell the world these things, you will be speaking in our voice. God Bless you, Sir. Destiny has placed you as our leader. Please, speak for us.

Mr. President -
To bolster support for the war in Iraq, the American people need to hear what they won't hear from the media and haven't heard from you.
Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden worked together for over a decade. Laurie Mylroie, Wolfowitz and others believe they colluded to plan for 9/11.
Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)
In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”
The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

I agree...though I would say, as the new book by Bill Sammon says, let's not "misunderestimate" the President.
I'm sure that one thing the President knows, and a lot of sensible people know as well, is that terrorists have cable, the Internet, and satellite radio too. I'd just as soon hear him say that we have taken action, and to tell us what that action was.
By the way, just as a statement, if Kerry can endlessly invoke Vietnam, I'm going to (and not BECAUSE of him) invoke 9-11, the worst thing that has happened to America in my lifetime.
After 9-11, here's what I remember: I wanted people taken out. Now. A few days later, I heard the President say "..the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." (the moment that one of those b-hole senators wanted the President to return to...
(and oh really, you mean to tell me that a Demotreason wants the President to return to a time where he had an over 80% approval rate? GMAFB)
A few days later, the President said that "the conflict started at a time and date of their choosing. It will end at a time and date of OUR choosing." A week or so later, I was at church when our Pastor mentioned that the Afghanistan war had started.
We must trust them to know what they're doing, as hard as that is. Your point is well taken, and I can almost assure you. THIS President will do what is right, when it's right, BECAUSE it's right.
