These f#ckers are all the same. In Algeria they cut the throats of there own people "fellow muslins". But the cowards normally do this to woman, children and the old. These wankers (sorry British slang)can't even reveal their true identities and have to cover their faces. You know why? Because we would come and hunt you down and ensure you end up looking like the two sons of Saddam did when we got hold of them. Can not wait until the handover of Iraq. Then we can pull out and leave these sorry bastards to kill off each other.

The b*st*rd's are trying to blame this on the handling of the prisoners but I have been thinking and wondering.

Has anyone noticed how complicit the prisoner's were who were photographed? I don't recall seeing that they were handcuffed or their hands tied behind there back or any such manner of restraint.

Sure they had sacks over their heads, but I can tell you if it had of been me in that situation I would have been fighting to the bitter end. And remember these Al Quaida would give their lives for 72 virgins.

I know my thoughts are a conspiracy theory but what about the possibility that those 6-7 military personnel were sympathetic to Muslims and those pictures were all staged to cause the Bush administration trouble.

There wasn't anything surgical about it. I just watched it. I'm still shaking. He was just sitting there while they read a statement in Arabic for about 5 minutes. I'm sure he thought he was being held for ransom or something. At the end of the statement, the terrorists suddenly started singing/chanting/screaming (it was chilling), grabbed Nick, forced him to the ground and started sawing his head off while he screamed and screamed.

I am starting to understand the "Nuke Mecca" crowd a little better.

General Taguba clearly doesn't have any respect for General Karpinski. He is disgusted with her emotions, her failure to take responsibility and her willingness to blame everyone else for the problem.

He faults her for all of these things, plus her absence from the prison area, leaving everything unsupervised.

If the offending general had been a male, he might have felt the same way. There's no way of knowing that. He has 32 or 33 years in the military, so I have no doubt that he is old school in his thinking.

About his feelings regarding Rumsfeld. I had replied to you about this, but it probably got lost in the flurry of messages on this thread.

So, I'll just copy it here again.

***General Taguba had many opportunities to get Rumsfeld and he didn't do it.

Over and over he emphasized that the problem was at the battalion level and down.

He said it several times. There wasn't even any hedging or any tiny opening to blame Rumsfeld.

He may not like Rumsfeld, I don't know anything about him, but he appears to have done his job professionally and left personal grudges out of it.****

Anyway, be sure and watch the replay on c-span later. You will come to the same conclusion I'm sure.

I'd be interested in how you see it. If you think about it, give me a post and let me know.

Nope Al Jazeera hasn't reported it. They are too busy reporting stuff like this (from the AJ website)

Exclusive: Iraqi family tells of torture
By Ahmed Janabi
Tuesday 11 May 2004, 16:01 Makka Time, 13:01 GMT
Aljazeera.net has obtained detailed information of an Iraqi prisoner reportedly abused by US-appointed law enforcers. He died shortly after being released on a hefty bail.

I disagree. Kids don't need to see it, but everyone else does. Everyone needs to know who we are fighting, their ethos, their moral character, their evil spirit.

Eisenhower made the German citizens march through the concentration camps, and made them work in them. He wanted them to know what atrocities had been committed.

To turn your head to this is to try to escape the abject reality of knowing the evil that thrives in that part of the world. You turn your head long enough, and these beheadings will happen in the US.

CNN not even mentioning the beheading. They are just continuing the hysteria about the "disgusting" photos in the prison.

Having just seen the video in it's entirety about 10 minutes ago, I can only really CAUTION people NOT to see it if they think they might have "second thoughts". It is a very high quality video, with zoom in on the actual beheading.

The image will indeed stick with you, and may even cause the fainthearted to pass out. I recommend to the poster who saw it an hour ago and who is still shaking, to get off the internet and get yourself involved in some activity immediately to get your mind off of it before you have a chance to imprint it too deeply...otherwise you are able to get a good case of the ol' PTSD.

What a horrific video. Wow.

I've seen some things, but that was graphic, cruel and animal in nature. Those thugs must be wiped from the face of the earth, and their women made barren so they cannot produce a new generation of terrorists. Seriously.

Thank you General Taguba.

Maybe, maybe not.

Captain Dale Dye (USMC, ret.) devoted about an hour of his radio show (KFI 640AM
in Los Angeles; www.kfi640.com; 5-7PM PAC Time, Sundays) to the history of the scandal.

Dye said that Gen. Sanchez kept hearing rumors of prisoner abuse, so dispatched one
high-ranking officer to investigate...and got back a "nothing there" report.

BUT Gen. Sanchez still kept hearing rumors, then dispatched Taguba to double-check.
And Taguba managed to crack it open.

Now Taguba may have an agenda (NewMax article?) but until that gets fleshed out
I'll reserve judgement on Taguba for now.
Sounds like he did his job...so far.
