Joe Wilson: Wife Divulged CIA Secret on Fourth Date
NewsMax ^ | 5/9/04 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 05/09/2004 3:04:12 PM PDT by wagglebee

Bush administration Uraniumgate accuser Joe Wilson defended his wife Valerie Plame on Sunday for blowing her CIA cover during what he described as "a heavy make out session" shortly after the couple first met in the 1990s.

"Well, I had all the requisite security clearances and, in fact, there is some personal discretion that is allowed when you are in personal relationships," Wilson told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg.

Malzberg had asked about Wilson's admission to Vanity Fair in January that his wife revealed her CIA indentity in a moment of heated passion on their third or fourth date:

The magazine reported:

"Meeting in Paris, London and Brussels, [the relationship between Plame and Wilson] got very serious, very quickly. On the third or fourth date, he says, they were in the middle of a 'heavy make-out' session when she said she had something to tell him."

At that point Wilson told VF that his undercover enamorata interrupted their tryst and came clean.

"She was, she explained, undercover in the CIA," VF said. Wilson told the magazine that the revelation "did nothing to dampen my ardour. My only question was: Is your name really Valerie?"

The Bush accuser, whose new book "The Politics of Truth" details his outrage over having his wife outed by the White House, was less forthcoming about a report claiming that as early as 1994 her cover had been blown, forcing the CIA to return her to the U.S.

"I won't talk about anything related to her career, other than to point out to you that the CIA tells Justice Department investigators that she's covered by the Intelligence Identities Protection Act," Wilson told Malzberg.

In October, New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof reported: "The C.I.A. suspected that [master spy] Aldrich Ames had given Mrs. Wilson's name [along with those of other spies] to the Russians before his espionage arrest in 1994."

At the time, Kristof noted, Wilson's wife was brought home for safety reasons and "was already in transition away from undercover work to management."

JOSEPH C. WILSON IV IS A CRIMINAL!!!

Excerpt:
*Note:The biographies at the bottom of this page are the absolute originals from the Middle East Institute from 2001 and 2002. There is no question that Mr. Wilson IV placed his own wife's maiden name in the VERY public eye long before he left for Niger on his magical mystery tour. I demand his immediate arrest for EXPOSING the name of a CIA *operative* purposefully, willfully, and with no thought to her wellbeing whatsoever. (Any old insurance policies tucked away, there, Joey?)

As we have been reminded over and over, ad nauseum, Val and Joe have been absolutely trembling with fear over her very life and limb because of this criminal leaking of her maiden name. Extra special attention has been paid to making sure their extreme foreboding extended to the myriad *undercover* teammates she had worked so closely with while bedazzling them with her expertise as a specialist in WMD for three decades, (though she claims to just now be 44 years old.) Child prodigies might be accepted if they have far above average intelligence, (no pun intended,) but THIS bimbo had only a particular penchant for mendacity and an aquired arrogant propensity for a dastardly conspiracy that certainly fits with her elitist hubby's politics. These two are are nothing if not stupid liars, not to mention that this little game of spy vs.spy is well beyond her intelligence quotient.

She would have told him on the 1st date, but her mouth was full.

Uraniumgate? That's a bit of a stretch, ain't it?

I have a feeling that this revelation is related to a future revelation that after Wilson got the "undercover bit" :-) from Plame, he told his best friend. There was an article and "reading between the lines", I have this gut feeling.

Sure, I can see how a heavy "make out" session would immediately cause you to blow your cover to a man you hardly know (inside)

NOT!

Anyone wonder who else Valerie dated and revealed her "undercover" work to??

I only ask, because: I'm sure Valerie read the book before it went to press and to put this little tidbit in the book (being absolutely unnecessary) tells me there is something more to this. She knew on the 4th date that she would wind up with him?? Something's wrong with this picture.

The old "I'm with the CIA & I was on duty, that's why I haven't called" never worked too well for me....and "the girl you saw me with is my partner, and we were on assignment undercover" never went over too well either.

First thing that popped into my head too. How do we know she didn't out herself to every Tom, Dick and Harry she ever dated?

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, especially if her supposed cover was that important.

This gal is undoubtedly one of the most abusive "undercover" agents I've ever heard of. Her revealing her "undercover identity", was IN ITSELF, compromising secret information.

Dandi is right: there is NO leeway given to people regardless of their relationship. I never even thought of revealing to my wife the Secret and TS information I was privy to while I was in the AF - and in fact, to this day I have not discussed it with anybody, even though much of what I "knew" as TS has been publicized in the media.

gunnedah is right in wondering just how many others this broad had revealed this to. She is probably a disaster who ought to be prosecuted. It is a very good thing that someone found out her identity and published it before she could do even more damage.

Oh: by the way, my wife had a TS/codeword security clearance, too, just as I did.

Neither of us knew much at all about what the other did

(We both worked at Offutt AFB - SAC Headquarters)

Instead of IUD, she blurted out CIA. It happens all of the time.

There is a major problem with this couple. I can not imagine disclosing to someone that I was any kind of agent - heck, I was uncomfortable even letting people know I had any kind of clearance since they would tend to get nosy about what I knew - understandably!

To blurt out what was certainly at least "Secret" information during sex is an unbelieveable violation of proper behavior. The "partner" of someone blurting out such information ALSO ought to immediately let security know about such a revelation since implies that person may not be a wise person to be in possession of state secrets.

I can not fathom that these two would have been in any position requiring even a Secret clearance, much less a Top Secret.

Something tells me they are lifelong Demodogs.

Just rereading what I wrote:

In fact, the person THEMSELF ought to have talked to their own security higher-up and blow the whistle on themself if they made such an error "in the heat of passion" - that would allow any damage that might be done by the revelation to be minimized.

In fact, I myself had to report a similar situation on myself once - not even having to do with revealing secrets, but that I was in a personal situation that might induce me to WISH to reveal secrets. I was then isolated for a period of time to make sure I wasn't in position to do damage.

Let's be real. Clarke's book is doing better than Wilson's. He's REALLY mad cause the Bush administration has not made amends (pay me). He's just a little gold-digging, not very good, blackmailer.
