Oh, good grief.. Senator Byah seems so decent, its really too bad he is dumber than a rock. Thypical dem logic, symbol over substance.

"What did Rumsfeld just say "that's possible" with regard to?"Bayh asked in a longwinded way: 'Would it help to show us taking this seriously if you stepped down'? Rummy slapped him, IMHO.

I think that's what Rummy's saying: if he did search out criminal files for things like this, he risks compromising those trials. If he doesn't, he risks something like this. Damned if you do, damned if yuo don't. That is what I was thinking .. I didn't know for sure though

She may attempt to come across as a "voice of reason". Did anyone see that thread last night re: Kerry call for the commission to go easy on Rummy, et al; . He is afraid if this gets too high of a profile, his torture comments from 71 might come back to hit him.
To: LisaFab
"A visible livid Rummy says: "That's probable." HE DID NOT SAY THAT!!!!! He said "that's possible".
To: mikegi
I think Rumsfeld is going to quit. He's clearly had enough of the crap in DC I'm starting to agree.
To: Howlin
I just thought of one defense Rummy should use:
Well, Senators, what can you expect? After all, the Bush Admin inherited the fabulous military you Senators say Bill Clinton built, and these actions were under the direction of some of Clinton's military officials.

They can try, but they may not succeed. I think it's risky business for them to be so speciously attacking the Sec Def in wartime.

Bayh: You serve at the pleasure of the President. I assume he sets policy and accepts responsiblity for implementation. Long tradition of buck stopping at 1600 PA Av. Question of presidential response. Difficult question is to follow up on Graham's question: your resignation has been called for. You said if you could not be effective you would step down, but not because of a political witch hunt.
Though you weren't involved in underlying acts, wouldn't it help our reputation if you did step down?
Rumsfeld: It's possible.
Bayh: Effort may be bogging down. Read from Tom Friedman's column of yesterday. "In danger of losing America as _____ of morality." Do you believe we're on the right course, or is it necessary to regain momentum.
Rumsfeld: It's a tough road, a bumpy road. I am convinced that we are doing exactly what ought to be done -- pass responsiblity to Iraqis, recognizing that they must provide for their own security -- why so much effort into training.

MY take on Rummy's answer is that it was a very sercastic "It's Possible" ... I heard Rummy say "It's Possible, and it is also possible that Monkey's might fly out of my freekin butt you Democrat Hack Twit."
To: commish
He didn;t see all of the photo's until last night. He saw the same ones we saw in the media before thatBefore last night he only had seen the ones in the media--VIA the media.
They were leaked to the media before he or Myers could see any of them.

I've decided you must be Ragtime Cowgirl in disguise due to your able transcriptions.
Thanks for your service to those of us not able to listen.
Thank you, too, Peach.
