Well done essay. Kudos..Two question, if I may. Did your research determine who was the original nominating source, the eyewitness. It had to originate from someone, somewhere. And then, what has been Kerry's relationship since with tha individual. Second, were any other awards made for the same engagment? Who received them? I recall reading a study some time ago, that the se awards are raely made in a vacuum..that is, by themselves..

When will Kerry apologize to the family of the VC that he killed?

Are you saying there are, ahem, "inconsistencies", in Senator Kerry's statements?
I am shocked! < sarcasm off />

JFKerry knew that his "medals and ribbons" were going to created questions, reason he took the offensive using them to give himself credibility.
He and his fellow liberals first offensive was to set the "parameters" of questioning anything he and his fellow liberals do/did/ and say being an accusation of "questioning one patriotism".

Even if Kerry's account is taken as truth I still can't see how an encounter with 1 man could possibly lead to a silver star. It sounds to me like a good job by the boat crew but nothing that seems too out of the ordinary.

Still in possession of that UNREGISTERED B-40, Kerry wants to outlaw firearms for everyone else?

"Reporter Charles Sennott once wrote that Senator Kerry was so "focused on his future ambitions," that not long after the fight, he bought a Super-8 movie camera, returned to the scene, and reenacted the skirmish on film. During their interview, Kerry played the tape for Sennott. Apparently Senator Kerry had strong reason to believe that he and his crew would not be entering an angry hornets nest of hostile Viet Cong soldiers on their return visit to the scene to film an reenactment with an 8mm camera were he had killed the VC soldier behind a hooch."
What a maroon.

Even if it were proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the awards were purchased, the Hanoi John backers would not care. As with the Clintons, it is the thought that counts. Hanoi John wanted to be a hero, therefore he is a hero to them.

They had some early Kerry clips on. From what I heard, I'm gathering that Kerry might not have exactly volunteered but that when he got his number, it was so low, that he signed up before that date just like one of my buddies did and technically, he wasn't a draftee.

Bandit,
Excellent job on the analysis! Clearly, you spent a lot of time on this effort. Thanks so much!

And he didn't volunteer until his trip to France "to study" was turned down by the Draft Board, I believe...but he doesn't mention that when Cheney is attacked...
"Don't go there Kerry" could be a new name for him.

You are off on the draft lottery number aspect of this. The first lottery drawing was held in December 1969 and impacted the draft in 1970. The entire Kerry VN story was over long before the lottery existed.
He's still a lying dips**t.

Pittiful; Mr. Kerry was one of those jr. Officers who were connected and that was all the clout he needed. Veterans all have seen his type and basically ignored them but felt contempt. My feelings are Mr. Kerry deminished the true value of military awards for those who truly earned them. Kerry thought so much of his awards he threw them away...how phony can he get.
