I have been looking for a way to explain why I respect this man so much and you have just nailed it perfectly, He just "gets it"

Thanks for posting this, Mike (and Mayor and Pip - thanks for the ping)
Blue Lancer, you 'completed' the story with that photo!
AQGeiger: Bill Clinton would have been hamming it up for the camera at a moment like this.
Bill Clinton would have been most concerned that his fake tear and the little lip-biting thingie he does showed in the pic. PLUS..... all the leftist cameras and all the leftist papers would be on hand to record such a momentous event. Front page, above the fold, top story, photo flashed on all the alphabet TV 'news' shows for days.

*sigh* Thanks for the ping. I am once again not surprised but my admiration of the man somehow keeps growing deeper.

"The way he was holding me, with my head against his chest, it felt like he was trying to protect me," Ashley said. "I thought, 'Here is the most powerful guy in the world, and he wants to make sure I'm safe.' I definitely had a couple of tears in my eyes, which is pretty unusual for me."
God Bless you, Mr. President!

Some really appear to be trying to cast doubts about the president's character as well as his intelligence.
That would for sure be a tough job! Maybe that's why the Democrats are so grouchy!
To: Ronaldus Magnus
Looks like a sheen of tears in his eyes too.
Prayers of thanksgiving continue to go up for this man, our president, and prayers of supplication for his protection, wisdom, and guidance. May this country be blessed with four more years of his leadership in November.

The Dayton Daily news has an even bigger version linked here. Oh, let's just burn up some of JimRob's bandwith. This one is worth it.
I'm sticking another sawbuck in the mail today, JimRob.

I had no words when I saw this photo, but then when I began to study it, my first thought was here is a man who truly does know this child's pain. It's etched on his face.

Great post. It seems every time America is challenged we produce a great and good man to lead.
As for the slimes, Clinton would have felt her up and Kerry would have picked her pocket.

This doesn't surprise me one little bit. My husband and I had the honor of meeting President Bush's plane when he visited Wells Maine. He took his sweet time talking with both me and my husband. What I will never forget is that I reached out to shake hands with him and he took my hand with both of his and never let go the whole time that we talked. He also showed great concern and pride when we discussed our children's service to our country.

President Bush could care less about the camera. It's natural for him.. because he cares.
