Announcing the Free Republic Freedom Tour ~ 2004 ~ Rocky Mountain & South Western Division
Well, we've finally set the starting date and a rough itinerary for the first leg of our nationwide Free Republic Freedom Tour!
We'll be departing Fresno on Thursday, May 27th heading south, then east across California's Mojave Desert, through Las Vegas, and across Utah. We'll spend our first night on the tour somewhere around the midway point between Fresno and Ft Collins, Colorado, possibly near Cedar City or Beaver, Utah. Have never been in the area, so don't know exactly what to expect. It'll be a new adventure for us.
Hope to arrive Ft Collins, Colorado, Friday night the 28th and look forward to attending the Saturday Support Our Troops Rally in Ft Collins and spending some time with the Colorado FReepers.
Will be on the road again later that day hoping to get a head start on our way to Kansas. Will probably stay somewhere around Burlington, CO, on Saturday night. The Lord willing and the creek don't rise, will drive through Kansas and arrive in Columbia, Missouri, on Sunday night in time to observe the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday with the Missouri FReepers.
It's then on to St Louis where we hope to stay Tuesday night the first of June. Hopefully, we can meet for lunch with the FReepers in the St Louis area on Wednesday, after which we'll depart for Little Rock, Arkansas.
While in the Little Rock area, we'd like to stay a night in Pine Bluff so we can give Budge a hard time and wish him well. After visiting with the Pine Bluff FReepers, it's back to Little Rock and then on to the Ft Smith/Van Buren area by Friday night.
Will spend Friday night in Ft Smith. Have an Annual Morton Family Reunion to attend on Saturday, the 5th of June, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and then we're going back to Ft Smith where we hope to stay a couple more nights. My parents and grandparents on both the Robinson and Morton sides of the family are from this area and I'd like to take a full day to explore and visit with some of the family.
On Monday, June 7th, we hope to arrive in Dallas where we'll spend the night and visit with the Dallas/Ft Worth Chapter FReepers.
Hope to spend a couple nights in Austin meeting with the Heart of Texas Chapter FReepers (assuming Basil and Gracey will still have us) and possibly visit Crawford, TX, and the Texas White House.
Then it'll be off to Houston for a night where we hope to meet with Uncle TC and the Texas Termite and family. After Houston, we hope to visit and possibly spend a night in Corpus Christi.
From Corpus Christi, we'll drive up to San Antonio and stay at the historic Menger Hotel across from the Alamo where we stayed on our last trip to Texas and then we'll start the home trip the next day.
On the way home, we plan to spend at least one night in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and then it'll be on through Phoenix and up to Lake Havasu City where we'll spend the last night of our tour.
Hope to arrive safely back home in Fresno after a three week, ten state tour, with lots of pictures and great memories.
Then, later in the Summer comes the Pacific Northwest, Rushmore & Yellowstone Tour where we hope to visit Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming and then on through Salt Lake City, Carson City and home.
And that will be followed by our Winter Southern Tour across the South and down into Florida for a few days and then back up the east coast through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia to Washington DC, just in time for the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II.
Next year it'll be the Plains States, Midwest, Great Lakes, Bluegrass & Northeastern Tours. Eventually, we hope to visit all 50 states and every chapter we can possibly reach. It'll be fun driving through Canada and up to Alaska and even more fun yet driving out to Hawaii.
We're looking forward to a great trip. Hope to meet as many FReepers as we possibly can.
Wish us luck!

You might want to check with TC to make sure he'll be in town then. His work takes him pretty far away from Houston for stretches at a time.

Excellent ! I am only about 30 miles from D/FW and definitely want to meet 'Tha Man' of FR. I have a digital camera so I'll be getting pics of folks there, too. Include me in the emails ! Thanks.

"You might want to check with TC to make sure he'll be in town then." Thanks, Xena!
Y'all just give me the date, and I'll get it arranged to be off then.
I've already told the Termite about it.
We're anxious to see y'all!

This is excellent!! Where shall we go????

OMG, you are here! Wonderful. There are so many great places that we can "do lunch." Maybe we should plan an outdoor place and an indoor place to get the weather covered, although it had better be nice for the Robinsons. We need to know how many of us there will be. I would love to make this really nice, for them and for us. How do we find out the numbers of people?

Actually, it looks like the rest of us have been dissed.
Then it'll be off to Houston for a night where we hope to meet with Uncle TC and the Texas Termite and family.
I don't quite know what to think of that.
To: Gracey
I really wanted to go to the H.O.T. meeting since it was finally on a day I could be there and then I got wrapped up in something else and forgot all about it. Sorry.

I messaged Jim Rob to ask what area he was staying in and if he had a preference as to dining.
I agree Bahbah, I would like to make this very special for them also.
Prepare to party!!!!
