Need Help From Freeper Females (vanity)

Some of the guys and I are presently at the camping lodge and weve got a problem that requires the help of a sensible woman. My brother-in-law managed to get something in his hair this morning, and he wanted to wash it out. I cant tell you what that something was, because hes refused to divulge that to us thus far (I suspect that he fabricated the tainted hair theory to save himself some embarrassment.)
My brother-in-law believes that his wife has, at some point, told him that peanut butter is a useful household hair cleaner / conditioner. His wife animately denied ever saying anything about peanut butter, and thinks that he must have confused it with mayonnaise. Anyway, this guy has gone from a docile gentlemen to a ranting idiot and hes now in a state of full blown panic.
Please provide us with any suggestions that you may have for removing peanut butter from hair. If possible, wed like to know of any home remedies that may work were in a fairly remote location and nobody is willing to go to the store. Besides looking ridiculous, he smells horrible. Heres what weve tried so far:
A) Tried to melt it away by pouring very hot water over his head. This basically resulted in mild burns to his neck and scalp.
B) Made a makeshift shower cap out of a Wal-Mart bag, taped it around his head to make it watertight, and poured beer in a small hole at the top. He let it soak for about an hour to no avail.
Anything that you can suggest would be most appreciated.
Jaysun

cornstarch even gets baby oil out of hairCornstarch is the definative solution. My BIL use Vaseline(!) in his hair when playing an extra in a 50's movie, only to find out wardrobe would have provided K&Y Jelly. Tens of shampooings wouldn't touch it. Cornstarch did it in one application. (Maybe he should have used realpoo!)

I HOPE this guy remains friends with all of you! It COULD be quite an uhhhhh bonding experience. But he'll need some humility and to keep his wounded ego out of it.
It's going to take a long time. A few of the guys are relentless. He's got his head wrapped in toilet paper right now to keep the lotion from coming off in his bed. He's a big boy though. He'll get over it........someday.

Your experience occurred before I discovered FR, but I read the thread about it last night. Yikes!! And I thought you came up with a creative solution to the situation.

My dad opted for the comb-back, which is a little better than the comb-over, but if he got caught in a wind he came back looking like Einstein. We were all so thrilled the day he decided to let the barber have his way and cut it all short. So was he, when he realized he didn't have to constantly comb his hair anymore.

We're loaning him a toboggan. To cover his head? Isn't that a bit heavy? Not to mention it's the wrong season and all...

You should probably be putting cortisone cream on his head today.Shoot, slap on some bacitricin and give that man a purple heart.
Jaysun, just found this thread and it has made my day. What a way to start my morning at the office - giggling uncontrollably. Although the problem is now resolved, if I'd been around earlier, I would have suggested buck urine or doe pee - two items my husband seems to always have handy when he's in the woods.
Ping me when you get pics, please.

He has his head covered with lotion and wrapped with toilet paper right nowOh for crying out loud. The lotion is probably going to irritate it some more, if it's scented. Brut33 revisited. Tell him to wash it off. If you don't have hydrocortisone or Neosporin, do you have plain Vaseline? That might help.

The only thing that is going to work, in this situation is plain old dirt and a couple of hours. Find some sandy soil, work it into the peanut butter and comb or brush trough hair, wash comb, dry it, and begin again. Add dirt as needed until hair comes clean, rinse with water only after dirt and peanut butter have been removed. Keep in touch.

Hey, it really did do some good. Plus, WD-40 has a pleasant scent - at least I think so.That is one reason guys like the perfume Obsession ... it has a kind of WD-40 thing going.
Tell your friend that his hair was doomed around step 3 of the "cure" you guys fashioned and he was better off shaving it quickly so there would at least be some regrowth starting ... IF IT REGROWS AT ALL!!!

It's "Corn Husker's" lotion. It doesn't seem very effective to me, it's clear and it's somewhat runny and sticky. It's similar to syrup. Anyway, I'd love to help him but he stopped taking suggestions from us some time ago. Our friend Jack says that he's going through a "wounded and cornered wild animal" phase right now. He's huddled up in the corner of his bed and he snarls and lashes out at anyone that comes inside. So we'll be leaving him alone - at least as long as he's in the "wounded and cornered wild animal" phase.

He chose that over a motorcycle helmet and a homemade newspaper hat. It's out of my hands.
