(CNSNews.com) - A 26-song CD coming out on Tuesday urges punk music fans to "Rock Against Bush."
For the "especially low price of $8.98," those fans can hear various bands "uniting against a common enemy."
Three of the songs on the CD are titled "Moron," "Warbrain," and "No W." Others include "The School of Assassins" and "Sink, Florida, Sink."
According to the punk record label Fat Wreck Chords, which is releasing the CD, 17 of the 26 songs are "unreleased and exclusive," from bands including Social Distortion, NOFX, Ataris, Anti-Flag, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Descendents, Ministry, and others.
A press release from Fat Wreck Chords said the goal of the "Rock Against Bush" project is to get the "crucially important" anti-Bush message to as many people as possible.
With that in mind, Fat Wreck Chords decided it was not enough to simply release a collection of protest songs. Therefore, the Rock Against Bush CD comes with a "bonus DVD that is packed with music videos and informative political content" from anti-Bush documentaries.
Those documentaries include "Unprecedented," which claims, "George W. Bush stole the presidency of the United States... and got away with it." Another documentary called 'Uncovered' tells the story of how "truth became the first American casualty in Iraq."
Al Jourgensen of Ministry said his band contributed to the protest CD as a "proactive expression of outrage against the 'evil-doings' being inflicted upon American citizens and citizens of other sovereign nations by the Bush Administration."
In the same press release, Justin Sane from the band Anti-Flag commented, "Our brothers and sisters of this human race are dying for George Bush's friends in corporate America who profit from the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the U.S. orchestrated coup in Haiti. This may not bother you now, but when someone you love is shipped off to Iraq to fight for greed, or you find your feet in a pair of army boots in the desert, it will."
The Fat Wreck Chords website urges punk fans to "Order Rock Against Bush comp and get a schweeet anti-Bush bumper sticker!"
The website also invites fans to "Hear some s*** from Rock Against Bush Vol. I !"
Volume II is still in the planning stages.

I actually know two of the guys in one of these bands quite well. Disappointed to see them on this loser list. But what do you expect from guys who sing songs about teen angst - in their 40's

Nothing like no talent screaming musicians rockers putting out political cd's. Keep it up guys! Think what you will about the Woodstock crowd, but at least there music didn't make you feel like running as fast as you can to get ear plugs. Well maybe it did but I think you know what I mean.

I recommend that Kerry take advantage of this great opportunity and get his picture taken with these stalwart, patriotic, clean-cut, all-American types (snicker). Rodents For Kerry!

Are you refering to the band Ministry? They've been around a long time, since disco morphed into dance-techno.

I'd also add that of the thousands of kids that buy this CD, only about six of them will vote.
Libs. All style, no substance.

Who? The only band there I've heard of is Ministry which did the song "New World Order". Considering it was Bush sr that coined the pharase, I'm not suprised they are there.

They realize as do most of us that after the November elections, President Bush will be vindicated by the serious trouncing Kerry got and they'll lose the BS stolen election issue forever. They have to make their dollars off of it now, while they still can.

There is also the Christian band "Relient K" with my personal favorite "Pressing On" about the walk with Christ.
Relient K lyrics :: Pressing On
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
Out of mind, out of state.
Trying to keep my head on straight.
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
There's only one thing left to do.
Drop all I have and go with you.
[Chorus:]
Somewhere back there I left my worries all behind.
My problems fell out of the back of my mind.
We're going and I'm never knowing (never knowing) where we're going.
To go back to where I was would just be wrong.
I'm pressing on.
Pressing on, all my distress is going, going, gone. (pressing on, pressing on)
And I won't sit back, and take this anymore.
'Cause I'm done with that, I've got one foot out the door.
And to go back where I was would just be wrong
I'm pressing on.
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
Out of mind, out of state.
Trying to keep my head on straight.
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here.
Adversity, we get around it.
Searched for joy, in you I found it.
You look down on me, but you don't look down on me at all.
You smile and laugh, and I feel the love you have for me.
I think we're going somewhere.
We're on to something good here, and we're gonna make it after all.
