Isn't Woodward supposed to be on Larry King tonite?
Powell's pre-empts him just in time!
To: sissyjane
If Larry King wants to actually make news, he will have Powell call in to Woodward. (Snowball's chance in Hell, I know, but I thought I would put the suggestion out there.)

LOL :) No, not yet :)

Clarke, Woodward, Gorelick, and the 9-11 Commission, the NYT, et al....all of this is TIMED for the election...they do NOT care if they are proven to be liars, because they know that the media will put only seconds into the corrections, but HOURS, entire news programs (such as 60 minutes), entire news specials, etc, DEDICATED to the orignal charge.

>> Powell call in to Woodward<<

To: Howlin
Ha! The interview is over and Powell has ripped Woodward's credibility to shreds, essentially calling everything Woodward reported a LIE.

I think in that one short phone call Powell demolished ALL the Democrat talking points for today!
I wish I had made a list of them!

If we didn't already know it, dragging Gergan out is a sure sign Woodward's in trouble. I want to see All Bush's Men bring down THIS guy.
To: lonevoice
Well, when we heard that there was another Bash Bush Book coming out...we knew it was going to be another Democrat...writer....with no facts......what does this make now...about the upteenth book bashing Bush until November? Pathetic. Woodward got his marching orders....

Even though the liberal media will make little of the Powell denials, it is GOOD that it is coming from POWELL himself. This is KEY that it is not a "Whitehouse" spokesman...this carries MUCH weight because it is Powell saying it.
To: Miss Marple
Powell dissed Woodward when he explained that he only had a couple of phone interviews with Woodward for this book. That most of this book comes from his prior interviews that he conducted for his first book! HA! Woodward is trying to do a twofer - two books but based on only one set of interviews.
Woodward is a snake.

LOL! Yes, I am, but I am also glad that I explained how the New York Times and Woodward work earlier, and I am glad that Powell has vindicated my faith in him.
Now we can see that Powell was the target of the left, trying to divide a wedge between him and the President.
Anyone who gets upset at those crummy NYT's stories should take a lesson from this episode.
In one fell swoop, Powell has destroyed the credibility of the Washington Post and the New York Times. HAHAHAHA!!!
To: Miss Marple
the fact that Colin Powell, Secy of State, has to step in and go toe to toe with Woodward now - why was anyone from the administration even talking to this guy?
To: Howlin
Sean did a great job with this interview, structured good, concise questions, didn't interrupt Powell, and let him fully answer every question. Colin Powell did a great job, and again showed why he was the best person for the job of Sec of State, no mater their gender/race/etc. GWB did that for all his cabinet positions, what a concept!
Hope Dubya sends him a nice card for Secretary's Day!! Rummy too!
To: oceanview
Powell talked to him for the FIRST book. Apparently he used his interviews from the FIRST book and extrapolated his own opinions and the opinions of weasels in State for the second.
Woodward wasn't given access for the second book. He is a liar.
To: Miss Marple
Hannity and Colmes show for me tonight, so I can hear some replays of Powell and watch Colmes weep.
Powell did a domestic form of Shock and Awe.

FGS, do you EVER see the silver lining anywhere?

Just wait until October. Kitty Kelly has a book being released that month that will be another Bush-basher. Remember her "unofficial" biography of Nancy Reagan, wherein she said the first lady was having an affair with Frank Sinatra? I have a feeling this book is going to be really nasty.
