the fact that Colin Powell, Secy of State, has to step in and go toe to toe with Woodward now - why was anyone from the administration even talking to this guy?

Powell talked to him for the FIRST book. Apparently he used his interviews from the FIRST book and extrapolated his own opinions and the opinions of weasels in State for the second.

Woodward wasn't given access for the second book. He is a liar.

Woodward's original book was good .. even if there were parts of it which were tainted left. Basically, it was the story of what the WH went through after 9/11. I have all the WP excerpts (8-9) from the book which the WP put on the internet. I printed them out and have them saved in a binder - for my grandchildren. A REAL history.

But .. I believe Woodward had a lot of info left over from the original interviews and was encouraged from somebody (like we don't know who), to make use of them - in an attempt to smear Bush. However, I have heard that he uses a lot of "unnamed sources" which bothers me. When people won't name their sources - I don't read their story.
