The DC Chapter of Free Republic set up a Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry bake sale in front of Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry's national headquarters in Washington DC this afternoon. The Kerry campaign responded by calling the D.C. police to shut down the bake sale.
When the D.C. police arrived they ordered the DC Chapter to shut down the protest in 15 minutes or they would ticket them for occupying a public space without a permit. At that point the police would then disperse them themselves.
Due to the short notice, and the fact that it would be a small group, the DC Chapter did not apply for a permit.
Kristinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News this afternoon for an in-studio interview. The interview should air sometime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm today. As more details become available, they will posted here.
Kudos to those that attended. The honor roll is Kristinn, Angelwood, TGSLTakoma, TBP, Trueblackman, and Staytrue.

..'Dateline NBC' finally showed tape of this happening last Friday night during a TV Interview with HILLARY.

Simply OUTSTANDING!!! You make us all so proud to be FReepers. What amazing creativity with the item names. And the photos are priceless! My heartiest congratulations to all who participated.
PS I guess my tagline is especially appropriate for this thread.

I love the part where the Kerry people tried to back us into a corner with the question "Are you a veteran?" when I replied yes yes I am, then tend to lose all train of thought. From now on I am going to wear my medals to Freeper events of Kerry.

Raoul never misses a beat. Great line and right on the money. You said it. I wish I were even half as fast on my feet. Someone asked him if he worked for some company, I can't remember which, and he answered, "No. Halliburton."
The Frankenstein wouldn't have been a match for him, but he did good not to let him define the dialogue.

Still laughing!!! You guys were superb.

"...sounds like Kerry's people intend to run a very heavy-handed form of government"He'll never have the chance - besides he is not supposed to win hence all the off the wall remarks etc. Hillary is supposed to step in during the summer to save what is left of a splintered democratic base due to the looseness of JaneFondaKerry remarks...she, like Jamie Gorelick will be scraped by Americans who prefer a Republic to the Clinton alternative of ....... The Third Way - Socialism/Communism.

Yes, please, doctor, give us more warning next time. I was on a bus heading somewhere else when Kristinn called and then I had to consult a bus map to find this place, way out in the low-rent boondocks too. More blue hair and thrift-shop clothes than you can shake a stick at.

BRAVO.....DC Chapter!
'Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry' bake sale is too deliciously inspired to only do one time.
Suggest you get a long term permit (like you did for the WH Freeps) and show up at Kerry Campaign Headquarters as often as you can!
And the 'John Kerry Hero Sandwich' would make a great Rally poster as well.

Doctor Raoul saw a clip of our bake sale interspersed with Carl Cameron's report on the Kerry campaign earlier this evening. He said the waffles were mentioned this time.
To: Jimmy Valentine's brother
We just may make this a regular stop. With all the necessary permits and lawyers, of course.
To: tgslTakoma; Angelwood
Those pictures are too funny! Did you all contact John McCaslin? This is exactly the type of story he likes to print!

It's "Viet Cong Vets For Kerry" to take advantage of sounding like Kerry's bull crap. Can you make that one?
This one looks great, but it doesn't follow the pattern Old Sour Puss has established.
