April 16, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - New questions surfaced yesterday about 9/11 commissioner Jamie Gorelick's potential conflicts of interest after it was revealed she was more deeply involved in anti-terror efforts than has previously been known. Records obtained by The Post show that Gorelick, while serving in a top job at the Justice Department, met every two weeks with George Tenet, then the No. 2 official at the CIA, and headed then-Attorney General Janet Reno's national-security team.

Jamie is tied to every questionable investigation and in the commanding position....OKC Bombing, Monica, Foster, and all the terrorist bits during the Clinton administration. This may just be self-destructive to the Dem Party. Of course, the problem remains the biased media.

I, for one, do not believe GoreLick should be removed from the 9-11 commission. I would find it very enlightening for witnesses to get grilled by the commission about why they didn't respond to terrorists before 9/11. They can point at GoreLick and say "It's her fault."

Thanks for posting the link to the article. I enjoyed reading it. Even if Jamie doesn't budge, she needs to know that she isn't a queen, and that her seat on the commission is not a dynastic throne.

I certainly hope we get to the bottom of Gorelick's contribution to 911. I hope she steps down and I hope that she testifies.

Agreed. It just really ticks me off that this is a witch hunt to pin the blame on Republicans and Bush. Before watching this commission (since Condi's testimony), I had always believed that there was no way that 911 could have been prevented. But now... after seeing how much of this stuff was buried by the Clintonian gang, and hearing Tenet's testimony of how (with years of a headstart) they may have been able to infiltrate some of these groups, I am not so sure that something could not have been avoided. These politicians are only worried about their own power and protecting themselves; they have no concern about the security of the people. They are seriously lost.

Good question.

Maybe it's obscuring the overall failure of Clinton as president. Clinton was renowned for his ability to compartmentalize.

The few steps that Clinton took against terrorists, trivialized the danger and compartmentalized it in such a way that we were not alert for such a deadly attack on our own soil. We were asleep and Clinton didn't wake us up.

On the other hand, maybe it's obscuring a lot of indiscretions--- like the indecent relationship between the Airlines and Mrs. Daschle and Gore's committee.

Mentioned in the Wall Street Journall yesterday that Clinton was involved the Chinagate at the same time.....MAYBE: Illegal campaign contributions from the Chinese government.....CIA knew lots....Didn't want the FBI to know.

And Terry McAuliffe's lawyer during Chinagate was Ben-Veniste.

Jamie Gorelick had the most interesting skeletons in her closet.

Yes, the kind of investigation that can reach our and touch people she cares about. The cost of being Jamie Gorelick must be made to be unacceptably high.

FYI... I've been researching old articles. It looks like the inquiries into Gore/Clinton fundraising (Huang, et al) began in late 1996, related to contributions in 1996 (e.g. Temple fundraiser in late 1996). However, the BCCI prosecutions were in full force in 1994. It could have motivated "The Wall" memo.

That's true, but the dims also fail because they only think of NOW - never the big picture.

The memo done by Gorelick was a prime example. They figured it was classified and Ashcroft wouldn't declassify it. Instead of preparing for the possibility .. they just ignored it. The very fact that Gorelick didn't tell Kean is very telling. And .. her deceipt is the main reason for getting rid of her. If she will lie and cover-up to the commission - what does she have planned for the Bush admin.
