April 16, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - New questions surfaced yesterday about 9/11 commissioner Jamie Gorelick's potential conflicts of interest after it was revealed she was more deeply involved in anti-terror efforts than has previously been known. Records obtained by The Post show that Gorelick, while serving in a top job at the Justice Department, met every two weeks with George Tenet, then the No. 2 official at the CIA, and headed then-Attorney General Janet Reno's national-security team.

The Deputy Attorney General also worked with the Department's law enforcement components to better respond to crisis situations in the aftermath of the incidents at Ruby Ridge and Waco.
After the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City in April 1995, she coordinated the government's overall response to the bombing and supervised the investigative and prosecutorial response to the crisis. "In all of her work with law enforcement," Reno added, "Jamie displayed a sensitivity to the civil liberties of our citizens that gave comfort to all of us who care deeply about the Constitution."
****
I will never forget that several days after Elian Gonzales was snatched by Reno's agents, she was Guest of Honor at an event at Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty (not sure which) for promoting LIBERTY.

"Ruff contacted Janet Reno's deputy Jamie Gorelick and wanted to know what federal investigators knew or suspected about Chinese illegal contributions to the presidential campaign."Charles Ruff's so called "accidental" death in November 2000 has always seemed suspicious to me.

zG|?Xåper called the 9/11 commission hearings number the other day and the person who answered the phone claimed that President Bush chose gorelick........A BLATANT LIE!!!
Democrats.com is posting this lie, too.
Was Gorelick's Appointment a Set Up to Derail the Inquiry and Smear Clinton? Sensenbrenner - no doubt on a prearranged cue by his pals in the White House - is self-righteously calling for Jamiee Gorelick to be removed from the Commission - a position she was APPOINTED TO by Bush & Co.
I think the confusion centers around Bush's having appointed Gorelick to another panel or commission or two.

I heard one report that said she was the only Commission member to actually read the classified PDBs. She made notes for the others. I think that only two commission members were "cleared" to read the PDBs.

They are right. It is Daschle's fault since he appointed her. The 9/11 comission members themselves including the chairs can't change the membership. The problem is there was no process established for dealing with conflicts of interest if the member involved refuse to step down. Kissinger had less of a conflict of interest and voluntarily stepped down. Gorelick won't because she's Clinton scum. Frist should be personally involved in this and demanding in public that Daschle replace her. But Frist doesn't care. He got his prescription drug benefits passed. All of the Republican Senators should be on the Capitol steps demanding that she resign. The President should be doing so as well.

Daschle was an Intelligence Officer in the Army.Don't you have to have a minimal level of intelligence in order to be an Intelligence Officer?

bet she has been busy as a beaver doing everything possible to bury the past, coverup or spin every misdeed ever committed on intelligence and national security during the Clinton Administration (imagine the workload!)She's usually so good at prematurely "wrapping up" investigations.

It would not surprise me if Gorelick turned out to be sympathetic towards the terrorists. It would explain her behavior.

I guess Hillary didn't have Livingstone pull Jamie's FBI file way back when or she wouldn't have allowed her to be on this committee. Daschole might be in heap BIG trouble with the wicked witch of the east (and west for that matter).

I think the confusion centers around Bush's having appointed Gorelick to another panel or commission or two. Here are the panels/commissions she did serve on under Bush.
- She co- chaired, with Senator Sam Nunn, the Advisory Committee of the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection
and was a
- member of President George W. Bush s Review of Intelligence.

Don't you have to have a minimal level of intelligence in order to be an Intelligence Officer? In his case, his minimum height probably helped him become an intelligence office. He could hide under tables, in garbage cans, and in crawl spaces.
I wonder if some of the older folks in his old neighborhood spoke German or Russian. One of those languages could have been useful.

It's stunning how the Clintonistas are either superhuman in their efforts or totally out of the loop with a severe case of "I cannot recollect."

Ms. Gorelick also serves on the advisory committee of the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Totally agree that the commission is simply a way to get W.
The question about Gorelick and Tenet is why no one else knows she had weekly meetings with him. Are we to believe that only the two of them possess this knowledge? The press doesn't know it? No one in Congress? No one held over from the Clinton regime? Doesn't make sense.
Now, let me ask something else: all through the eight disgraceful years of America's first black President, we would have a situation just like this with a tuna sized catch of the day, but it would always turn out that there was a whale we were missing. What is the whale we're missing? It's too easy that this is coming out now, what is it obscuring?

Gorelick's own description of her counter-terrorism duties under Bill Clinton is contained in testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee in 1995. But they are not mentioned in her official biography on the 9/11 commission Web site. Any thinking person can now plainly see the coverup that is taking place.
