Dear Gov. Bush:
Ever since I came to Florida, Ive been duly impressed by you both as a person and as a leader. I cannot, however, stand behind your intention to allow illegal aliens to obtain driver licenses. Indeed, I strongly oppose it, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that it does not come to pass.
Allow me to elucidate. These people are called illegal aliens because they entered our country illegally. They should not even be here. Granted, it is not possible to round them up and deport each one of them, but a policy of attritionsealing our borders and making it as unpleasant as possible to live here illegallywill ensure that the illegals deport themselves.
You said, We shouldnt allow them to come into our country to begin with. But once they're here, what do you do? Do you say that they're lepers to society? That they don't exist? It seems that a policy that ignores them is a policy of denial. Mr. Bush, not allowing illegal aliens access to public services is not an act of denial. Allowing them access to public servicesespecially with our borders still as porous as they areviolates the spirit of having immigration laws, is a slap in the face to the millions of foreigners lined up to enter this country legally, and only encourages more foreigners to cut ahead and enter illegally. They will see this as a message that there are no consequences for breaking our laws.
That brings me to my next concern. Governor, I appreciate the plight of immigrants who come here to work and to seek a better life. My great-grandparents were immigrants from Austria-Hungary and Scandinavia. I am worried, however, that a significant minority of immigrantsespecially illegal aliensis not assimilating into American culture. It is one thing for them to hold on to their customs and roots. It is another thing for them to live in America and not speak English, even expect others to learn Spanish to accommodate them. Not all of us learned Spanish in primary and secondary school, Mr. Bush. Many of us do not have the time or energy to learn it now.
If we are to have a stable society that allows people to pursue their dreams and that truly makes life better for those who look longingly upon our shores, we must have one language and enforce our tried and proven laws and Constitution. Granting illegal aliens driver licenses does neither of these thingsand worse, given the high public animosity toward illegal immigration, it could spell defeat for you and your brother in Florida; just look at California. I dont want that to happen, and neither, I suspect, do you.
And somebody ping this to all the Florida FReepers; I don't have a clue how to do it. :)

Bwahahahahahahaa.....right after Jeb's second term as POTUS
Jeb is just following his brother's orders to prep the ground for FTAA and the expansion of NAFTA.
FTAA will finish what NAFTA started and we can all finally wave goodbye to whatever is left of America's sovereignty. Borders? We don't need no stinkin' Borders!
I just wonder how the Globalists will refer to the America of the future. Will it be called "North-MexAmerica"? "El Norte of Amerika"? "North Americas--Central Region"? Any one else have an idea on what the United States of America will be called after FTAA is signed by Bush (or Kerry)?
"Bush Country"?
I advise other Florida Freepers to take the time to write their own letters.
Like I said in a previous post, this was one of those times my brain was switched off... who all's faxed this yet? Hopefully no one. (I haven't... been getting a busy signal--probably fortunately.) If anyone already has, I'll keep it sealed on the comp.
