So what? This conversation proves that Richard Clark made a lot of stuff up. If you make a statement you should be held accountable for it.

These are all Republican Lies. Clinton had a plan, and CBS knows the truth:
He [Clinton] approached Gen. Hugh Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and said, according to the book, "It would scare the (expletive) out of al Qaeda if suddenly a bunch of black ninjas rappelled out of helicopters in to the middle of their camp. It would get us an enormous deterrence and show those guys we're not afraid." CBS NEWS

The mainstream media will spin this - if they acknowledge it at all - as, "When still with the Bush administration, Clarke - fearing for his life or his career - was afraid to speak the truth." Only after leaving the administration could he unburden himself and come forward with the horrible truth about the Bush adinistration.

I think it could be that very same Andrea. It could be that network AND others. Don't you wish Angle would publish who those other networks are?
Or do you think he'll hold back the names, dangling them over their heads, until they come clean on their own???!!
(Nah...they'd never come clean.)
He'll be asked them and will publish them in the next few days, I'd bet.

"When President Bush told us in March to stop swatting at flies and just solve this problem, then that was the strategic direction that changed the NSPD from one of rollback to one of elimination."
Did you forget saying this, Dick?

What a lying, opportunistic, puppeted POS! I'd just like to say to Meester Clarke:
Go pound sand until your pounder is red, raw, and sore!

Reminds me of the "I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it" theory of butt-covering.

I think it is deadly to Clarke's credibility... but, now the committee must prove that the war on Iraq was a diversion from Al Qaeda. That's going to be harder to do.
The Bush White House has nothing to fear from this line of questioning.

This briefing shows that Clarke - either then or now - was lying about the central assertion of his book, i.e., that the Bush administration had no pre-9/11 interest in terrorism, and no plan to fight it.

Rush: "Doesn't 60 Minutes have a research team? Don't other reporters who were present at this briefing have a desire to get the true story out?" (Close paraphrase.)

Iraq/Al Qaeda:
Why is it that leftists don't think the US military can do two things at the same time?
I swear, they must think that Afghanistan was put on hold while the US took out Saddam.

You mean he's like Marlena Deitrich with Charles Laughton in "Witness for the Prosecution"? The Bush people are capable, but I do not think they are quite THAT devious.
