Woman hit, killed in intersection
Dayton Daily News
MIDDLETOWN | A woman on her way to a movie Sunday was killed when police said a van hit her as she darted into the Ohio 122- Dixie Highway intersection.
Mi Ja Choe, 60, was on her way to Danbarry Cinemas on Dixie Highway just before 10 p.m. to see The Passion of the Christ when a westbound van hit her, Detective Jerry Mossman said. The driver of the van, Michael Young, 49, will not be charged, Mossman said.
A friend, Changsun Yoo, 56, of Fairborn, saw the accident as she stood on the edge of a grassy knoll in front of a shopping center, police said. Yoo told detectives Mi Ja Choe was visiting from Hawaii and they were meeting friends.
"Her friend didn't cross," Mossman said of Yoo. "She saw the traffic coming and yelled at (Choe) not to cross." There is no crosswalk at the intersection and Choe was wearing dark clothing, police said.

Wonder if this story would've even made the news if the movie had been Starsky and Hutch or Dawn of the Dead.

Anyone on a grassy knoll is up to no good.

Were there hobos sitting on the grassy knoll by the movie theatre? Is Kevin Coster investigating?
To: Green Knight
If it had been one of those evil SUVs that had hit her, the media would really have a tough time deciding whether to blame the SUV or the movie.
In all seriousness, prayers for the family and friends of Mi Ja Choe and for Mr. Young, who now carries a heavy burden.

The "grassy knoll" strikes again? The questions remain ... was there a second driver? Or is this a case of a "magic" car?
