And, also from Mr. B's e-mail:
I hope you will be able to attend, and will help me PROMOTE this event!

I am beginning a "Buena Park Republican Club" in order to generate some enthusiasm on that end of my district. Our kickoff meeting is tomorrow evening from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Fuddruckers Restaurant, located on the corner of Beach Blvd. and Orangethorpe.

My goal is to make this not the usual stuffy, boring, political club, but something very different, and fun and exciting. Meetings will be short, "sweet" and enthusiastic! I’ve invited a lot of the College Republicans, the Young Republicans, and hope to have a mix of all ages. The Orange County Register has already caught wind of it, and it appears that they will have a reporter attending.

Anyhow, this being the case, I really want to make a huge "splash" – I can’t but think how great it will be for the media to pick up on this and say something like "the Republicans finally do something in Buena Park, and the turnout is so great that they cannot fit everyone into the house!"

Oh, and in addition, Republican registration in Buena Park is only about 300 voters less than the democrats! I want to get the people excited tomorrow to go out and turn this around in the next 3 weeks – another great headline . . . "New Buena Park Republican Club turns Buena Park into a majority Republican city after just one meeting!"

If you have any ideas, suggestions, etc. please let me know. I’m kind of on my own on this, and I want to be as effective as I possibly can.

Best,

John

P.S. I’ve attached the flyer I made up for the event. (See above.)
Please feel free to critique, forward, whatever.

Happy to hear that the people in Knot's Berryland have their own Republican club.

Much as I enjoy Fuddrucker's (they closed the only one in NYC and it is now a Gay hangout), there is a GREAT Thai place near Knot's Berry that I ate at when I went to a Model UN conference there. Lots of fishtanks and great fish dishes.

Hey, Rondog, do you know Pastor Wiley Drake of First Southern Baptist in Buena Park? I know him very well. He's pretty active, politically. Look him up if you haven't yet.

Hey, Rondog, do you know Pastor Wiley Drake of First Southern Baptist in Buena Park?
LOL!
I do indeed.
I first met him at Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson's THIRD annual Repudiation of Jesse Jackson in 2002.
Pastor Drake was also at the inaugural meeting of the Buena Park Republican Club...
...and he WILL BE at our "Defend America!" COUNTER-rally in Hollywood - on March 20.
Pastor Drake may even broadcast LIVE from the event!
