This should be a great protest rally, folks. We are joining with other groups, and people are coming from as far away as West Virginia and DC.
Join Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, Vietnamese-Americans Against John Kerry, and several other groups from around town.
Date: Saturday, February 28
Time: 12 noon
Place: Across from John Kerry's NYC headquarters, 373 Park Avenue South, between 26th and 27th Streets, NYC
Here's the first thread on this protest.
The weather is supposed to be absolutely fantastic.
Use this thread for hitching rides, discussing sign ideas, and any other input on the protest.
I will be scouting the area for a good place for us to go afterward. Suggestions welcome.

Kudos to your father. People like him are the reason we are protesting on Saturday.

Real Patriots Don't Sell Out Their Fellow Soldiers? Too long for a sign, huh?
Hmmmm....this might be an idea for down the road. A T-shirt saying "I'm a Vietnam Vet Too" on the front and on the back: "Write ME in for President"

Here's the catch. My father, a lib, served as a U.S. Army Sniper. He doesn't go around calling himself a hero. And for that matter, neither do I. I was motivated for liberty's sake. When you wake up in the morning and fresh dew has hit the ground, working on about 4 hours sleep, you just get it as you watch the sun slowly rise.
Chris
P.S. Most of you know how I was converted.

I have a friend who was a sniper in Nam. We'd been friends for years, and I never knew it.
One time, he and his wife went to the grocery store with me and my husband to buy steak for a picnic. He couldn't go near the freezer area. He couldn't look at the raw meat, either.
I asked his wife what was up, and she told me.
The building he was shooting from got hit and collapsed. His legs were shattered. He was full of metal pins, so the cold hurt him.
He couldn't look at raw meat, because he saw so many head shots it reminded him of it.
He was a hero, but unlike Kerry, didn't feel it was something to brag about.

"He couldn't look at raw meat."
That must be terrible. I can only imagine how that would. You're right. He was a hero. That's what makes John Kerry look so ridiculous.
When you get it, all those things you ever had to do become worthwhile. I still remember those feelings, wishing I could relive them over every day. Read a post by me, titled, National Training Center. That was one of the most profound moments of my life.
