[history]
State Attorney General Bill Lockyer on Saturday rebuffed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's demand that he force an end to San Francisco's same-sex marriages, calling the directive political rhetoric.
"The governor can direct the Highway Patrol. He can direct the next 'Terminator 4' movie if he chooses. But he can't direct the attorney general in the way he's attempted to do," Lockyer said, adding that Schwarzenegger's written directive "was a statement designed for consumption at the Republican convention."

Then the Attorney General is violating his oath to uphold the laws of California and Arnold should move on down the chain of command until he finds somebody interested in upholding their oath rather than their ideology.

Who were the original people who started the recall campaign for Gray davis?
To: William Creel
Jim Patterson, former Mayor of Fresno. A Christian Reagan conservative, and a really nice, mature person.

Situations like this make me want to advocate vigilanteism. Honestly, there would be no better way to swing public opinion in favor of gay marriage than for some nut case to go blow away a couple of gays on their wedding day. Can you imagine the coverage that would get in the media? I hope that DOES NOT happen.
