Here we have a JFK wannabe who is hardly in Vietnam long enough to get a good tanNo offense buddy, but a good friend of mine was blown in half on his second week in country. Another partner took a piece of shrapnel into the outside of his left eye, popping his eye out, eye dangling by the nerve down by his cheek, they had to cut it off and tie it off.....He was only in country 4 days...Still wears his patch, as his glass eye always looked spooky.

I'm pretty sure little Johnny was privileged but we just don't hear about that...his being a Democrat and all (gag !!!!)
I also know a few guys that saw and experienced a lot of terrible things in Nam and they rarely even talk about being there. Once in awhile and after a few beers, a conversation might go there, but not often and no bragging.
I don't believe I have ever witnessed a real hero telling others just how he got to be a "hero".

Very heartfelt and intelligent article....thanks for posting.
I'm just wondering.....WHEN IS THIS COWARD GOING TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY THE MEDIA?
My message to anyone who has the power to stick a microphone in this man's face, I implore you. Ask the hard questions.

Yeah, his "Kerrying on" about his hero status is wearing real thin. Sheeeesh...isn't it though??
If I hear that monotone voice of his say, "I know something about aircraft carriers, for real" much more, I may have to shatter my TV screen.
To: Bubba_Leroy; Howlin
I have heard this mentioned years back, but never a good as this.
Perhaps someone will come out of the woodwork and tell us what happened.
Perhaps this is why Kerry has kept his buds so close.
Lot's of questions here.
Thanks for the ping Howlin......

He passed away in November 2000 and was buried the day we elected George W. Bush president, November 7, 2000. He didn't have to talk about his tour of duty in Vietnam for you to know he was a great man. I miss him so muchGod rest his soul, and give peace to yours as well.

"Who in the Military issued these medals in such a ridiculous
short period of time!"
I'm unfamiliar with the way the officer side works, but apparantly they can recomend themselves for medals and do so all the time---so I've heard.

I'd never heard this colorful phrase so I asked a friend (med-evac chopper pilot) what it meant. Here is his reply:
FULL THROTTLE, DAMN THE TEMPERATURE GAUGES, GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE, POWER!
He went on to say this: "INTERESTING ARTICLE, I DID QUITE A FEW MEDEVACS FOR THOSE TWO UNITS AT THE TIME J Fing KERRY WAS THERE. HIS AWARD CITATIONS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE THRU THE FREEDOM OF INFO ACT. SOUNDS FISHY TO ME TOO."
