***Ketchup Boy Only Served For FOUR MONTHS***
Stardate: 0402.17

Posted on 02/17/2004 5:59:52 AM PST by The Wizard

We know the media shills for the democrats, but it's about time some one of the VERY FEW honest media get on this point and two others:

We want to know about those famous wounds that he takes credit for......(I'm not saying I would want them, but he is making big claims about his service) but we have a right to see the records.

All my friends had to spend 12 months in Nam....why did ketchup boy only serve 4 months and then come home and fight the war and call those poor guys without deferments baby killers and war criminals

I am telling you my friends, more is coming about what really happened in kerry's war experience, and it won't be a pretty thing to see.

The guy Kerry showcased in South Carolina was his former brother in law (BIG SURPRISE).

It's pretty clear now that since Kerry brought up his service record and everybody else has questioned W's that Kerry do the same data dump on 'all' his military records as W did.

I don't think so. They still remain his personal records.

I don't think many have made the connection, but the reason our boys were spat on and harassed when they came home from the fight is because of John Kerry's ilk --- including his congressional testimony where he said our soldiers were torturing innocents and committing war crimes !!!

Thank John Kerry for that !

I'm wondering whether the Bush team are keeping their powder dry until after the Kerry coronation at the DemocRAT convention. At least I hope that's the case. Then once he's the official candidate, they'll let loose with all of the damaging info. Hey, I can hope, can't I?

Coast Guard Boat Coxswain training does the 'man overborad' drill more than any other. If Kerry didn't get his guy he should have been courtmartialed.

Like JFK should have for being the only PT skipper to have his boat run over by a destroyer in WWII.

Are there any Heinz companies in the US???

There are several. Most of them are in the midwestern states. I just saw an article that stated that offshore sales account for 43 percent of all Heinz sales. They are in India, South America, Indonesia, China and several other countries.

The reason I ask is, that over the weekend I noticed on a thread that a freeper has done just that...but I always thought that military records were private and had to have the approval of the soldier in question.

Here is an email I got earlier today. I realize the date is almost one month old, but this is a quite a different view of the Ketchup Boy.

Conduct Unbecoming
Kerry doesn't deserve Vietnam vets' support.

BY STEPHEN SHERMAN
Monday, January 26, 2004 12:01 a.m. EST

A turning point may have been reached in the Iowa caucuses when Special Forces Lt. James Rassmann came forward to thank John Kerry for saving his life in Vietnam. Although Mr. Rassmann, like most of my veteran friends, is a Republican, he said that he'd vote for Mr. Kerry. I don't know if the incident influenced the caucus results. But I took special interest in the story because Jim served in my unit.

Service in Vietnam is an important credential to me. Many felt that such service was beneath them, and removed themselves from the manpower pool. That Mr. Kerry served at all is a reason for a bond with fellow veterans; that his service earned him a Bronze Star for Valor ("for personal bravery")and a Silver Star ("for gallantry") is even more compelling.

Unfortunately, Mr. Kerry came home to Massachusetts, the one state George McGovern carried in 1972. He joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War and emceed the Winter Soldier Investigation (both financed by Jane Fonda). Many veterans believe these protests led to more American deaths, and to the enslavement of the people on whose behalf the protests were ostensibly being undertaken. But being a take-charge kind of guy, Mr. Kerry became a leader in the VVAW and even testified before Congress on the findings of the Investigation, which he accepted at face value.

In his book "Stolen Valor," B.G. Burkett points out that Mr. Kerry liberally used phony veterans to testify to atrocities they could not possibly have committed. Mr. Kerry later threw what he represented as his awards at the Capitol in protest. But as the war diminished as a political issue, he left the VVAW, which was a bit too radical for his political future, and was ultimately elected to the Senate. After his awards were seen framed on his office wall, he claimed to have thrown away someone else's medals--so now he can reclaim his gallantry in Vietnam.

Mr. Kerry hasn't given me any reason to trust his judgment. As co-chairman of the Senate investigating committee, he quashed a revealing inquiry into the POW/MIA issue, and he supports trade initiatives with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam while blocking any legislation requiring Hanoi to adhere to basic human rights.

I'm not surprised that there are veterans who support a VVAW activist, if only because there are so few fellow veterans in politics. Ideally, there'd be many more. If you are going to vote on military appropriations, it would be nice if you didn't disrespect the soldiers.

Congress hasn't had the courage to declare war in more than 60 years, despite numerous instances in which we have sent our military in harm's way. Of all the "lessons of Vietnam," surely one is that America needs a leader capable of demonstrating in himself, and encouraging in others, the resolve to finish what they have collectively started.

But the bond between veterans has to be tempered in light of the individual's record. Just as Mr. Kerry threw away medals only to claim them back again, Sen. Kerry voted to take action against Iraq, but claims to take that vote back by voting against funding the result. So I can understand my former comrade-in-arms hugging the man who saved his life, but not the act of choosing him for president out of gratitude. And I would hate to see anyone giving Mr. Kerry a sympathy vote for president just because being a Vietnam veteran is "back in style."

Mr. Sherman was a first lieutenant with the U.S. Army Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Vietnam, 1967-68.

John F. Kerry...

"In our opinion and from our experience, there is nothing in South Vietnam which could happen that realistically threatens the United States of America. And to attempt to justify the loss of one American life in Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos by linking such loss to the preservation of freedom, which those misfits supposedly abuse, is to us the height of criminal hypocrisy."

"We veterans can only look with amazement on the fact that this country has been unable to see there is absolutely no difference between ground troops and a helicopter crew, and yet people have accepted a differentiation fed them by the administration. No ground troops are in Laos, so it is all right to kill Laotians by remote control. But believe me the helicopter crews fill the same body bags and they wreak the same kind of damage on the Vietnamese and Laotian country- side as anybody else, and the President is talking about allowing that to go on for many years to come. One can only ask if we will really be satisfied only when the troops march into Hanoi."

We can't really fault him for taking advantage of a regulation that allowed rotation after three Purple Hearts. The only way I would fault him on this is if his wounds were self-inflicted or accidental.

No doubt that Kerry has released selected parts of his record.

Personnel files - not personal. I think one could make the case through FOIA for access with "personal" info redacted. The write-ups for awards should be public info. How else can we determine if minorities doing the same things were not recipients?

It was my experience that the guys who could write best & had no compunctions about self-engrandisement got the bulk of awards in the military. Just had his boss sign a prepared/typed recommendation. Piece of cake.

I'm sure JF'ingK could type & being the Class Orator at Yale, he certainly could write flowery & (even) appropriate buzz words for his recommendations.

On Jan. 3, 1970, Kerry requested that his superior, Rear Admiral Walter F. Schlech, Jr., grant him an early discharge so that he could run for Congress on an antiwar platform.

What is the difference between Kerry's early discharge to run for congress and Bush's early discharge to get his MBA degree? These demagogues are full of it!
