Kerry served in Vietnam? Why hasn't he mentioned this? ;-)
To: kattracks
Kerry needs to explain to the American people how it is that he branded many of them as war criminals in his testimony before Congress.

I just heard a report on the radio... Kerry fighting back against the White House... not letting himself be defined by the White House....
exactly when did Bush launch a vicious attack on Kerry??

I beg to differ. Kerry realized the populist/socialist sensibilities of his most likely constituency and played them to a tee, the country be damned.

For the record, then: America first sent advisers to the Southeast Asian country during the Eisenhower administration.
For the record...Truman sent the OSS to VietNam. The 1st US casualty was an OSS agent ...in 1945.

A reply to an attack on Bush becomes an attack on Kerry. Scary what the media is doing with their spin. Brit Hume is the only one I've seen really dispute their spin.

I miss the good old days when Kerry only mentioned his Vietnam experience in every appearance. Now if only more regular voters would hear about the "Vietnam Protester" Kerry - but he's unlikely to drop that info into every speech.

Yup, and I hope Brit keeps it up and it spreads. Cavuto should be good for a rant on this subject soon if he hasn't already.

I don't think this country has a burning desire for another sixties radical-never had a real job-marriage of convenience-can't let go of VietNam-appeaser-apologizer-philanderer-bleeding heart-anti capitalist.
'Been there done that.

I am so sick of hearing John F. Kerry talking about VIETNAM that I could scream. He ONLY served for FOUR MONTHS!!! How do you get so many medals in FOUR MONTHS?! He came home 6 MONTHS EARLY to run for CONGRESS!!!
Are we going to fight that war again or the PRESENT ONE, which he has NO CLUE about fighting. HE WOULD TURN IT OVER TO THE UN!

perhaps the war only became "immoral" in Kerry's view once a Republican became president. It's deja vu all over again.

Kerry opposed the war BEFORE he went. He made a big speech his senior year at Yale, opposing US involvement anywhere in the world other than Europe. He believed then and he believes now that only white Europeans are worthy of American help. And he only wants to help Europeans because his family is from there. I suppose you could equate Kerry with the most conservative of conservatives from the 1950s and their desire to isolate. However, Kerry is a socialist to the core. He wants us to be pacifist socialists, I guess. His philosophy is incompatible with America.

It seems to me that civil disobedience became a Democratic
Party shrine at the same time that political Party was co-opted by the Communist Party USA.But many Democrats would probably deny that ever happened, much th esame way many
Communists denied any associations with that brand of
Socialism.
To: StonyBurk
Very true! The dominant media were complicit back then in ignoring this association. Being anti-anti-American was worse in the eyes of the dems and the press than being anti-American. Senator McCarthy became the personification of this view - hence McCarthyism has been a code word to push back any criticism of socialism/communism for the past 50+ years.

Sen. John Kerry spent much of the weekend in Wisconsin going on about how he "stood up against Richard Nixon and his war in Vietnam." Now, it's true that time seems to have begun for Kerry when he mounted the national stage back in 1971. But if he wants to be taken at all seriously on this issue, he needs to acknowledge the role played by Nixon's two predecessrs, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, in committing the United States to South Vietnam's defense.
We freepers have noted that for weeks Kerry has been saying this. We noted that he personally went over under Johnson.
This is the type of deceit we've come to expect from Kerry and I'm glad to see at least one publication call him on it. Lord knows the questioners at the debates haven't asked him to explain and expound on his denunciations of "Nixon" (said in the most sinister of tones, of course).
BTW, Kerry uses the same tone when uttering the dreaded name "Ashcroft".
To: claudiustg
Kerry needs to explain to the American people how it is that he branded many of them as war criminals in his testimony before Congress. While continuing to reserve the title of "decorated war hero" for himself, of course.
