Kerry served in Vietnam? Why hasn't he mentioned this? ;-)

Kerry needs to explain to the American people how it is that he branded many of them as war criminals in his testimony before Congress.

Now, it's true that time seems to have begun for Kerry when he mounted the national stage back in 1971.Time began, and his brain stopped.

For the record, then: America first sent advisers to the Southeast Asian country during the Eisenhower administration.
For the record...Truman sent the OSS to VietNam. The 1st US casualty was an OSS agent ...in 1945.

I don't think this country has a burning desire for another sixties radical-never had a real job-marriage of convenience-can't let go of VietNam-appeaser-apologizer-philanderer-bleeding heart-anti capitalist.
'Been there done that.

perhaps the war only became "immoral" in Kerry's view once a Republican became president. It's deja vu all over again.

Kerry opposed the war BEFORE he went. He made a big speech his senior year at Yale, opposing US involvement anywhere in the world other than Europe. He believed then and he believes now that only white Europeans are worthy of American help. And he only wants to help Europeans because his family is from there. I suppose you could equate Kerry with the most conservative of conservatives from the 1950s and their desire to isolate. However, Kerry is a socialist to the core. He wants us to be pacifist socialists, I guess. His philosophy is incompatible with America.

Sen. John Kerry spent much of the weekend in Wisconsin going on about how he "stood up against Richard Nixon and his war in Vietnam." Now, it's true that time seems to have begun for Kerry when he mounted the national stage back in 1971. But if he wants to be taken at all seriously on this issue, he needs to acknowledge the role played by Nixon's two predecessrs, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, in committing the United States to South Vietnam's defense.
We freepers have noted that for weeks Kerry has been saying this. We noted that he personally went over under Johnson.
This is the type of deceit we've come to expect from Kerry and I'm glad to see at least one publication call him on it. Lord knows the questioners at the debates haven't asked him to explain and expound on his denunciations of "Nixon" (said in the most sinister of tones, of course).
BTW, Kerry uses the same tone when uttering the dreaded name "Ashcroft".

"For the record, then: America first sent advisers to the Southeast Asian country during the Eisenhower administration."
WRONG! Stylin19 already rebuked this claim, but I'll also add my 2 cents.
On September 17, 1950, Truman set up the Military Assistance Advisory Group-Indochina (MAAG). Even before the group is setup, C47s are already delivering aid and support to the French.
By August 3, 1950, MAAG has at least 35 advisors in Vietnam. Yes, MAAGs numbers did increase under Ike to over 600 or so by 1960, but as Ike plainly said, he would not send American soldiers to fight in the jungles of SE Asia. That honor still belongs to JFK.
