We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

Update 2:

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Update 3

FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

The dems are doing a smart thing by knocking Kerry off. The mainstream media will report this story and pretend to be disgusted by having to report on Kerry's infidelity, but they will report it.

"I think it would definitely be best to have Kerry over Edwards. If Kerry, or Dean for that matter, gets the nomination"

Agree completely!

As a reporter, did this woman write news reports about the campaign while sleeping with Kerry???

Very relevant question!

I used to be afraid of Edwards, but I cant see him winning the Midwest. He really is lame. The Clinton comparisons arent fair to Slick Willie. Slick was one of the greatest liars of all time. Edwards is a Ken doll.

Go W.

I'd bet it was Dean that got the story out. He was REALLY pissed about Iowa.

Why? What's the rationale for that? They've still got Edwards and Dean. How could they possibly defend choosing Kerry and only Kerry no matter what the people want?

Indeed, they do still have Edwards and Dean. You can stick a fork in Dean. He was finished after Iowa, and his little tirade that evening was the last nail in the coffin. Best he can do is go Green. Edwards is their best hope after Kerry, and probably the Dems best hope to defeat Bush anyway, but he has to catch up to Kerry.

I really do believe (and perhaps I shouldn't) that our society has been brought down so far, that this kind of thing won't matter to most people anymore. They will be the ones saying things like "They all do it," and "This kind of thing has no bearing on what kind of president he would be."

Once again, I use the entire Clinton presidency as an example. If that kind of thing REALLY mattered to democrats, Clinton would have been forced to resign, or taken out of office. But it doesn't matter to them.

Maybe if I see Kerry crash on this, I will be a bit more optimistic in the future, but my specuation is based on the past ten years of democrat behavior.

What about his first wife? I haven't heard a peep about her. Any links? I'm just curious, since she also was filthy rich.

Recent affair. Reason why D ean didn't drop out is because he caught wind of this.

After thinking about this for a bit, I think if something comes out about Kerry, it may benefit Dean. If there is no clear delegate winner going into the convention, the convention could be one helluva show.

Other than the people who won't vote for him because he cheated, there will be others who won't vote for him because they're fed up with internship scandals after Clinton.

True dat. Even if the faithful are fine with Kerry cheating on his wife, he has to lose some points for sheer stupidity.

Maybe a Deaniac in a red dress infiltrated Kerry's campaign and then the magic happened. Here goes Rush now. campaign drama... Kerry fights off prove "recent alleged infidelity". Rivals are predicting ruin. Networks are in a race to report this story second. This business about infidelity, don't jump too quickly per Rush.

Those Kool-aid drinkers only care that Kerry's initials aren't GWB.,

Kerry's initials are JFK, but this is carrying idolatry too far.

No, but you are missing the point.
He didn't have his base sewn up yet, and he was attempting to go for the middle and military votes.
Well, we all know that isn't going to happen now.

He is toast.

On to digging up dirt on Edwards, or maybe people are just so burnt out on Dems with their primaries and screaming candidates that they'll just fold and go home.
