[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

I've voted in dem. primaries before. I've never signed any form of any kind. If you did that in 2000, your election officials may have messed up. I'm pretty sure it's a statewide rule, not a county one. And in 2000 it was the first time this rule was in effect. (I heard the whining from Dems wanting to vote for McCain, but also wanting to vote for Gore later on.) As I said, this year it could be the GOP will not have a primary at all in VA (though I'm not sure), so there was no need to sign the form. Angelwood, thoughts?

that back in 2000 a reward of $2,500 was offered to anyone who remembered Bush being there and so far no takers. Of what benefit would it be to take that. It'd cost you more than that in legal fees to collect, then more still in getting back your reputation after you'd been savaged.
There were reported in 2000 to be a few peers that recalled him.

anyone who remembered Bush being there Could it be that the ones who would remember him are dead, and their names are on The Wall in Washington, D.C.?
To: Travis McGee; Howlin; Ragtime Cowgirl
Roughly 1 in 4 of these-era places crashed, burned, or required ejection.
About 1 in 3 were in additional "ground accidents" that didn't require ejection or death.

Also known as "SLAM DUNK". This is GREAT.
Shame on Kerry, MacAuliffe, their congressional surrogates and the press corps. Shame on them all.

Just strapping on one of those obsolescing F-102s was risking one's life. How does one calculate the casualty rate for F-102 pilots? I bet it was pretty darn high!

The dems are GRASPING for straws.
It is the biggest joke watching these guys try to come up with something on bush.
I can't believe that Kerry is actually going to be there guy.
It is almost scary - the lack of leadership among the dems.
I am curious what happens in 2008 though.
Who will run on the Rep side?
We know Wilderbeast will run on the dem side. She will be fun to watch :)
To: Petronski
We say, "Knock it off." So, Mr. Kerry and your friends who want to slander the Guard: Knock it off.
gold indeed. Great post.

I would not offer to piss on [Kerry] if he were on fire. Besides, you would have to put down that can of gasoline and that cigarette lighter!

Enjoyable article ping, for your lists! Thanks for the ping, CSM! I wanted to write to Barbara Bush and tell her to dig out the photos of her son that I am SURE she has from when he was in the Guard!
But someone already thought of it........they have been posted on Fox News this morning!!!!
