Just finished the interview with Russert. I was starting to have doubts about W but after this interview...HE HAS MY SUPPORT.
He means what he says and wants to accomplish what he says. He is a politician but what politician isn't. He has this sincerity that Clintons, Daschle, Kerry, Kennedy, Polosi, etc, (gag, puke, wretch) don't have.
I feel that the good old USA is a lot better off having W remain in the office rather than getting someone way to the left of Ted Kennedy.
A Boston brahmin who pretends he is Irish, switches from a Ducati to a Harley for political expediency, has a rich marxist foreigner for a wife to receive his gold digger medal is not who I want for president at this time.

I know the PM (or is he the president?) of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, also went to Iraq.
I always remember he was at the Azores meeting with Blair and Bush.

"What I can't stand is that every question and every comment coming from Mr. Russert is biased."
Now you know what Bernard Goldberg was talking about in his book "Biased".

If Juan's wife is going by appearances, he should ask her opinion of the candidates' wives. Teresa Heinz Kerry is butt ugly; Hillary was just butt. Laura is beautiful by anybody's standards.

That is what I am afraid of when Bush stands side by side to Kerry in the debate.

I heard a report a couple of weeks ago that almost every person to become President has been the tallest person.Wait. Wasn't Gore taller? Wasn't that the point of his stalking of Bush during the debate? To give that visual?
To: Dog
Half hour spent bashing him on WMD...the other half hour spent on a mish-mosh of "WHAT IF YOU LOSE".

I agree about the stammering. He just didn't seem like a pre-packaged robot. I felt he was trying to answer sarcastic, repetitive questions in a fresh, thoughtful way. I think the last half of the interview was excellent. I also REALLY liked his analysis of the Vietnam war when he said it was very "political" and that he had reflected on what went wrong. He said a leader should allow the military to make judgements in order do what was necessary to WIN! I think anyone watching the interview would be reassured about America being SECURE with this president.
I'm in strong disagreement with his immigration proposal, but we need bumper stickers that say "BUSH: If you want to live! We must fight him and the congress over immigration and border security...Wear them down with emails and phone calls. But none of this is relevant if we're perceived as weak targets for islamofascists with a waffler like JF**K.

I've just jumped back on the thread for a minute, but I liked that comment Bush relayed about Aznar comparing the dislike in Europe of Bush to the dislike Europe had for Reagan. I thought the President handled that whole question/topic of public dislike very well.

You sign up here on 30 January 2004 and come on here and tell us that Russert is a good interviewer -- that is Bravo Sierra when it comes to Russert's interview of President Bush. The disdain in his voice for this President was clear in Russert's questions and demeanor. If you cannot see that, then you can use Rush, etc., all you want but it doesn't make you a Conservative.
Even conservatives that don't particularly like the President I am sure would tell you the same thing -- the questions were repeats of the same topics to show Pres Bush in a bad light including the graphic that Russert tossed up that showed the Bush economy in a total bad light completely ignoring 9/11.
Russert bringing out polls from Europe or recent polls here right after the President said he doesn't govern by polls was laughable. The President hit a home run when he told Russert that President Reagan had lower numbers then he does in Europe and he considers himself in pretty good company.
Your comments are those of someone trying to talk conservative, but their failed miserably. You have no more desire to DestroytheDemocRATs as your name suggest then I do to ever vote for one!

Were there any light moments in this interview? It came off as incredibly heavy and dark to me.I was multitasking heavily at that time, intending to tape the interview (which I did) and review it later, as FNS begins at the same time as MTP here and ABC's no-name program (w/Steponallofus) beginning 1/2 hour later ...
I don't recall much levity from what I did absorb at the time. Russert must have doubled-up on his coffee intake prior to the interview ...

To the DemonRats we are the dark side. I usually enjoy taunting liberals by saying "Give yourself to the dark side. Become a Republican." GREAT!!! Humor and ridicule are exceptionally good weapons. I like to use them, too. Their constant thought is "Republicans bad; Democrats good." Rush is absolutely right when he says the leftists are funniest when they're out of power.

Dems were scrambling on ABC with Georgie. Podesta was twisting reality big time. Even Coke Roberts says Kerry will be battered by his positions in the Senate, like this Def of Marriage vote. He's toast.

I think by an inch more or less. Heck, Gore almost won. He did win the popular vote. But the difference in height between Bush and Kerry will be more apparent. That's exactly what I am afraid of when Bush stands side by side to Kerry in the debates. This height issue could play a major factor in the election.

...may I say that Julian on Fox and Friends is a contemptible little worm? Aaaarg. I saw the show this morning. What is it about that twerp, Julian? He seems to spew venom more and more frequently, and the female host, Karen Chetry at least tried to defend the Pres. He has a strange way of stating his views.
