Vanity: [FR Poll] If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?
2/7/2003 | FR

I thought because there is a poll on FR that says "If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?" it would be good to start a thread on the matter for people to explain how they voted in the poll, if they choose to do so.

So, does that mean you are one of the undecideds? Can't make up your mind between Bush and Kerry?

"OK OK, how many Liberties have you lost under George W. Bush, Scratch that... How many have you lost in your entire lifetime? No Black Helicopter stuff, just real honest to goodness Liberties you have lost?"

Do you understand what the CFR bill that Bush signed does. As a member of the NRA it has directly impacted my Freedom of Speech. The NRA will not be able to mention (under penalty of felony prosecution) any candidates name or thier position on gun-control sixty days prior to the election. What part of CONGRESS SHALL PASS NO LAW ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH don't you understand? Bush understood the 1st Amendment, but he signed CFR anyway.

You begging to be banned too ?

I am just stating a fact. As is my habit. If that gets you banned I can sure find my hat. My position here is that of a clear spoken truth teller not a sycophant.

Lots of people have opinions as to what the Constitution exactly means but there are nine that really have the ruling opinion... and only five of them are needed.

If you don't vote for Bush your right hand is going to wither. The Dems, all of them, do not like Israel. Happy withering.

Republicans in general are just classier. Do you really want to be associated with the likes of a democrat? Not really, you want the honesty and integrity. But, we all are fed up with the democrats games. Luckily, many are waking up. So, what do we do? Change the constitution to elect a dictator? The Presidents' wish is our command? Or do we keep trying to work within the established, convoluted constitution our founding fathers purposely established to prevent a dictator? Tough questions.

Bush ran as a moderate Conservative, Buchanan ran as the far right conservative, Bush ran on Medicare overhaul, ran on "No Child Left Behind" he has stood on the platform he ran on, he hasn't abandoned his base, he never accepted Pat Buchanan's platform is what bothers all these so called "True Conservatives" around here.

If you asked me if I would like to see a strictly conservative agenda, I would answer "Hell Ya", but I'm not stupid enough to believe we could have one in a country this divided, So all I look for is the general direction to be shifted to the right and under George W. Bush it has, even more than I thought.

Have I been happy with everything Bush has done? NO. but I'm not an idiot who will toss him out and see to it that John Kerry gets in the White House to punish George W. Bush... because I know the only one that will be punished! IS ME AND THE REST OF AMERICA, if John Kerry wins in November

And I will add that if you folks were less viscious in your below the belt attacks on the honorable military service of guys like Kerry and McCain you would win more friends and influence more people.

Most of my ire is from seeing another Vietnam Vet attacked not so much for his politics but with false slurs against his military service. And I will wager that the worst offenders never wore a uniform

I found you, had to look around a bit.
With Kerry as CINC not only will I retire, but I think we will move, far, far away.

I've had it with them. ENOUGH. Send them back to Kinnebunkport in sardine cans.

Fair enough. Who would you suggest as a more viable candidate? Who will implement policies more agreeable to you? Kerry? Dean? Let's get real.

Politics in our nation, at least, is the art of compromise. We all have numerous complaints. However, I'm not willing to throw out the baby with the bath water. Are you?

"Dead, " liberty " will mean nothing to you. :-)

Good thing our founding fathers didn't have that attitude.

"Channeling again, or are you using an ouija board now ?"

Nope...just reading:

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve niethewr liberty nor safety....Benjamin Franklin, The MacMillan Dictionary of Political Quotations.

Checkmate.

Sometimes I have to wonder at those who pine for the days of Clinton and "gridlock". I have to wonder, is Free Republic really a success, when there are conservatives who think the country might be better off under an extreme leftist socialist like Kerry or Edwards?

Oh they say that the deficit would be reduced if you put a Clinton in the White House with a Republican Congress. They assume the Republican lead is strong enough. They assume there will even be a Republican lead after November 2004. After all, if the Democrats are able to muster up enough power and influence to retake the Presidency, why wouldn't the Democrats retake Congress? And they also forget that it was because of Bush that the Republicans have the majority they currently enjoy. It is as if 2002 never happened. I wonder what would become of the Republican majority in 2006, without any leadership to stump for them. Especially after the crippling defeat that they would have suffered by losing the Presidency.

Oh for the days of Democrats in power. Remember what happened to the judiciary under Clinton? More federal judges appointed than under any other one president. Environazi regulations and laws that nearly crippled industry in the United States. Remember what happened to the Justice Department? Waco, Ruby Ridge, Elian Gonzalez. They even found a way to cause a scandal in the Travel Office. And foreign affairs? War in Kosovo. But a blind eye to Osama Bin Laden. Oh for the glory days of Democrats saying, "No, we don't need to capture Bin Laden. This is something for the Police. Call in the FBI, Interpol, somebody. But we dare not oppose the terrorist states. The UN will take care of it." Yes, that sounds like excellent policy.

Who yearns for the days of tax increases? Well if you do, happy days will soon be here again when Kerry is President and "gridlock" is achieved. Who looks at the 9th Circuit and thinks, "that's a fine group of Constitutional scholars, wish the Supreme Court looked like that"? The Democrats feel your pain. Can't wait for "patriot" to be a dirty word again? Then cast your vote for Kerry.

The Democrats want nothing more than to be back in power. Who thinks that is a good idea?

Cmon, they have already figured a way around CFR, not too mention CFR doesn't have squat to do with you. I agree that he shouldn't have signed CFR, but I understood why he did, he stated that to toss out all the good in the Bill for the 2 or 3 portions that could be challenged in the SCOTUS was a gamble he was willing to take. I did think the SCOTUS would rule in his favor, I was wrong and so was Dubya, but it's not fair to say he supported all of CFR, he just made a mistake by not sending it back for changes.

But I will say without hesitation, CFR will not get me to vote for a certain loser or John Kerry, George W. Bush will get my vote as well as financial support, My Wife and I are half way to the maximum amount we can give to the Bush/Cheney04 campaign and I will do everything I can in my area to make sure he gets re-elected, we can not afford another stinking democrat in the White House... The stakes are way too high, WAY TOO HIGH

Your ignorance as to who has been actually flaunting his military service is astounding. Your precious JF Kerry has been the one to bring his military background to the forefront of his campaign not anyone on Free Republic so get your facts straight.

My father was a Vietnam vet and trust me, his opinion of Kerry and his wearing of his military background on his sleeve is that he could quite possibly be one of the largest assholes walking the face of planet earth!

The day all of this bites him in the ass carpio, you better be on here, because I can't wait to see your lame defense of it...
