Vanity: [FR Poll] If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?
2/7/2003 | FR

I thought because there is a poll on FR that says "If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?" it would be good to start a thread on the matter for people to explain how they voted in the poll, if they choose to do so.

There is only one issue in this election... who will best protect us from the Islamic Extremists who want to kill us.

The answer is obvious.

At this point its a lesser of two evils thing. I dont care for some of the Bush policies but i know he has the cajones to fight terrorism.

Undecided.

Who would the other candidiate be for whom you'd vote? A democrat? And this is because, the Rats policies are obviously, overall, so much better for this country?

Where did I say I was "Undecided" between voting for Bush or a Democrat?

I voted Undecided.

I won't vote for Kerry. But I'm really not sure I want to vote for Bush. My primary gripe - the totally out of wack budget. I understand we're at war, but then why the tax cuts in the middle of a war? Don't get me wrong, I like the tax cuts (even though I benefited little from it) but I don't see why it couldn't wait if we're "at war". Or at the very least, why it couldn't have been scaled down some.

Having said all that, I may end up voting for Bush anyway. I do like a lot he's done. Kyoto, Afghanistan, Iraq - are what come to mind right now. I may sit out too, since I live in NJ and what with the whole Electoral College system, a vote for Bush might be wasted. I'd vote for him anyway if I was enthusiastic about him, but at this point in time I am not. We'll see what happens between now and November.

If you're undecided about voting for Bush, then it's a vote for the democrats...obviously, no third party will win. So no vote for Bush IS a vote for the Rats.

let's see:

an bad immigration proposal that will not pass anyway, some problems with job grwoth which the Dems don't have any solutions for anyway, some drugs for senior citizens...

versus

national suicide on security and terrorism, gay marriage nationwide, more taxes, a continued collapse of the judiciary, a continued collapse of the culture, ....

sure, that's a real tough choice.

Well who does Yasser want in the White House....

The policy of not touching Arafat and condemning Israel for "settlements" has been the same no matter who is in power. Even Reagan maintained the same US policy regarding 1967 Israeli liberated lands when he was in power.

So you believe the election will be very close?

Describing President Bush as the lesser of two evils is to ignore the fact that debates about domestic policy will become moot if we don't win the war on terror. I don't like President Bush's spending, but I know the Democrats will not move to spend less, will raise taxes, and will lose the war on terror.

No, I believe you support the Rats if you don't vote in such a way to make it CLEAR you are against them. Being undecided about the only candidate who'd win against the Rats is showing you have greater support FOR the Rats than you have against anything about them.

This election cycle will once again see conservatism represented by a person who wouldn't know a concervative if they handed him a foot high stack of substantiating documents.

There will be lessers players out there who will sap off a few percentage of the conservative vote. I'll probably agree with most of their platforms. It won't make a hill of beans worth of difference.

My choices are to back the main candidate or watch our military gutted and see even worse appointments made than I expect to see as it is.

When it comes to elections, I'm not just holding my nose these days, it's come to the place where I'm searching for a plastic surgeon who can prevent me from noticing who's stinking up the place almost non-stop.

If this isn't the declining days of a nation, I sure as hell don't want to see what would be. This is gutt wrenching enough.

I will vote for Bush after the surgery.
