Vanity: [FR Poll] If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?

I'll vote for Bush. To be honest, however, if it were Lieberman I might consider voting democratic. There is no need for y'all to tell me how evil the democrats are, I know. It's just that to me the overall size of governemnt is the most important issue, well, that and national security. When there is a democratic president, the Republican congress does its job. I could never vote for Kerry because of the national security reasons, but Lieberman (yes, I know he is no longer running) would have been ok on security. What we have going on right now is just not sustainable in the long run. Either the president or the congress is going to have to start behaving with the slightest bit of fiscal prudence. We know that the Republican congress will when there is a democratic president. So if it wasn't for national security, I would consider voting democratic.

No, I believe you support the Rats if you don't vote in such a way to make it CLEAR you are against them.

SO voting for Republican representatives in Congress isn't clear I am against the Democratic Party?

Because we don't actually elect the President, any popular vote percentages help whomever is elected President, making their positions stronger in congress if there is overwhelming support of the people behind them. But, I'm sure you already know this.

Of course he's for big spending. The difference is that when there is a democratic president, the Republican congress does its job and stops the big spending. I used to be proud of our congress during the Clinton years.

Kerry. Bush has done nothing to win my vote and a lot to lose it. I'm voting for Kerry in protest.

I would vote for Bush almost automatically, but there's one thing that makes me pause: Bush's amnesty/guest worker immigration proposal, also known as the Karl Rove Amnesty Program (K.R.A.P.). Bush's proposal is such an abandonment of responsibility that I want to know what Kerry's immigration policy is before I make a decision.

I used to be proud of our congress during the Clinton years.

Yeah, like the time that the House impeached Clinton but the Senate didn't oust him, that includes the pubbies, who didn't vote to get rid of him, either.

Constitution Party. Bush has failed to uphold his oath of office to Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States of America. By signing the un-Constitutional McCain/Fiengold CFR bill, Bush has knowingly abridged our First Amendment rights. He also supports Clinton's ban on semi-automatic rifles which shows he has a willingness to disregard our Second Amendment rights. That combined with his proposed amnesty for illegal immigrants, his big government spending and his refusal to control our borders makes it a no-brainer for any true Conservative.

The problem is that no matter what Kerry says, he won't stop the immigration. It would be one thing if you could beleive the guy, but you can't.

Don't get me wrong, I like the tax cuts (even though I benefited little from it) but I don't see why it couldn't wait if we're "at war". Or at the very least, why it couldn't have been scaled down some.

You're wrong and you benefited from the tax cuts.

Very simple, tax cuts remove money from the leviathan and leave the money with those that earned it. That money is more efficiently used in the hands of the private sector.

In this case, the tax cuts were necessary to rectify the recessionary economy left to Bush by the tax increaser Clinton.

Tax Curtis can in the short term lead to deficits but in the long term they have an limiting effect on government.

The ideal world is tax cuts and reductions in spending. Bush is currently making an effort at part 2.

Finally, I would say this. I think you're on the wrong board.
