No, I believe you support the Rats if you don't vote in such a way to make it CLEAR you are against them. SO voting for Republican representatives in Congress isn't clear I am against the Democratic Party?

Because we don't actually elect the President, any popular vote percentages help whomever is elected President, making their positions stronger in congress if there is overwhelming support of the people behind them. But, I'm sure you already know this.
