Thanks for the reply my friend. I was hoping that would be the case.
You sound emotionally exhausted and frustrated, please get some rest and try to clear your mind. This is a horrible tragedy, but perhaps something good will come from it IF the people are fed up and angry enough to act. I blame our revolving door "justice" system for this outrage, as well as the hypocritical liberal voters who elect their fellow liberals like the judge who turned that monster loose on the innocent children of your community. Enough is enough is enough. Our children are being sacrificed on the altar of political correctness and false "humanitarianism" by blind liberal fools. It's past time to strip these liberal ideologues of the power they hold over our lives, one way or another.
Of course the monster himself is ultimately responsible for this horror, but if justice had been done at the proper time and place he would not have had the opportunity to act out his demonic, nightmarish fantasies on a helpless little girl. God help us to reclaim our great nation from liberal idiocy, and restore true justice FOR ALL THE PEOPLE, not just the criminal class.
Please excuse the rant, I'm just going to listen (read) from here on tonight.

There is no way words of that nature should stand unchallenged. Sorry to see that the mod had to remove them.

I heard the child's biological father on tv earlier tonight. He and his son were fishing and he was to pick up Carlie at her friend's house, and missed her by not more than 2 minutes. She set out walking by herself, though it was not what had been planned.
Her father went looking for her when he left that house, driving along the route where she would have walked, but she was already gone...
He knew something was wrong immediately, but it wasn't till the next day that there was the Amber Alert.

"...he just wants to be compassionate."
Wrong! He just wants to be elected. Soft on crime is the Dem line.
God bless the Bruscias and comfort them. And may the perp be shot hung and drowned before they send him to the electric chair.

I was going to post a little yahoo map showing the path from Marina Jack's to the Provenance Gallery. Can't, I forgot the new password I reset on my webspace. DOH!
It's less than .2 miles and is pretty much a straight shot from Jack's.
Considering how in previous attacks he went stolling near watering holes/pool halls looking for easy pickins (women walking alone) that seems like a block he would like to hang out in :/
My guess is he might have trailed the gallery owner from the Marina after she had dinner with the girls...
or had watched her walk from the restaurant to the gallery before.
Love how Marina Jack's advertises itself as being "a safe walk to the business district"
If he goes to Marina Jack's much (for a beer or just to hang around in the shadows), that's definately in his comfort zone.

I teach sixth graders. The kids are children. Sure, some of the girls are taller and more developed making them appear to be older than they are. But, they are still little children. I also teach the son of my friend who died. Just stressful to see families hurting for reasons none of us can explain. I feel for Carlie's family. Several of my students mentioned her today so I know their parents are concerned. Kids have lost their innocence and we can't even watch football games anymore without being subjected to filth. Maybe this isn't a well connected post and I am just a bystander of all this but it is very sad. hey laura, you expressed yourself just fine - it must be so hard for kids to sort all this weeks events out.
I know it reminded me how I not only have to remind my kids about the dangers out there - but to practice with them what they should do....I don't think kids really get the "message" unless you make them act it out, say something disarming and unexpected as a predator would to gain their confidence - and make your child SHOW you what they will say and do to stay safe.
Kids know how vulnerable they are just watching that tape and it probably would impower them somewhat to give them the tools to deal with unexpected situations like that poor little Carlie found herself in.

He kidnapped an adult woman --- that should have kept him behind bars forever. I disagree.
Kidnappers, murderers, rapists, arsonists and child molesters should be hanged in public for their first offense.
For any other violent crimes, even bar fights or slapping their wives, they should get the chop on the second offense.
And any three-time felon should also face mandatory death. I don't care if it was for cheating on taxes or stealing a videotape from Blockbuster. We don't need to tolerate people who do not live by the rules.

"I hope this doesn't spread - have a friend's daughter who is a victim of sexual assault that goes to court next week"
I agree because not only would justice be delayed for the victim, but also it would be an unneeded financial burden on the taxpayers. It costs a lot of money to mail out and process juror summons and questionnaires, to pay for all the other associated court costs involved including the parking of 150 potential jurors only to keep them waiting and then have them turned away because some liberal defense lawyer talked a liberal judge into believing his client wouldn't get a fair shake because of the headlines coming out of Sarasota, FL that are so fresh on everyone's mind. We had a perfectly good pool of potential jurors this morning but it was wasted. Now they're going to have to repeat the process all over again.

He has three daughters so one or more of them are probably looking over their shoulders now. Someone may want to even the score. You know, my rational, logical, human side recoils at the thought of tribal justice and collective punishments.
But there is a reptilian, dark, angry shadow in my subconscious thoughts that occasionally surfaces and whispers: This murdering monster is demon spawn. Nobody who shares his seed should be allowed to live among us.
Most of us (including me) are able to submerge such vicious thoughts, and all things considered that is better for society. But you are right, perhaps there is someone close to the family, or someone who suffered a similar loss, who will not be able to control his reaction to such a shocking event.

Everytime I see this thread pop up, I want to see this man hanged. The video, her face on the news, she deserves to have this animal put down so that God can go ahead and judge him asap.
This is after all the reason for capital punishment, to send the guilty before God who waits to judge them. It's not to deter crime, it's about justice for the victim who shouldn't have to wait for this man's judgement from God.
We are told to obey and we should.

There can never be a directed verdict of guilty in a criminal trial. NEVER! An acquittal by a jury in a criminal trial is always the final say as to that charge. ALWAYS! But if the judge disagrees with the jury he/she can set aside the jury verdict? I'm asking. IIRC there was some such brouhaha over the British Nanny Shaking death MA a few years ago?

Wow--WTSP Channel 10 just ripped Judge Rapkin a new one. They showed case after case of handwritten notes by Rapkin to probation officers excusing, forgiving, and ignoring probation offenses.

"Suppose he abused her or something. That would really send people over the deep end and then he's toast."
Killing her wasn't enough to send us over the deep end? And OF COURSE he molested her. I don't need to wait to hear autopsy reports to know this. There is NO OTHER REASON for an adult male to kill young girls.

"Savage does and will, I am sure. Too bad he doesn't have the forum O'Reilly has."
yes, it is too bad; watched most of O'Reilly - missed toward the end points, as I was leaving - but from what I saw; he nailed 'Van Ness' or whatever the name; but again; while he railed etc; and rightfully so; and admirably so. . .he never mentioned the "Liberal" word. . .ever!
Or did I miss it?
That in itself, was very disappointing.
Often wonder if O'Reilly 'gets the bigger picture here; don't know the answer.

They showed a clip of this 'judge' on Larry King tonight. He was trying to cover his a$$. This jerk knows he is responsible for this animal being on the streets to murder that little girl. Damn him and that SOB Joseph Smith.
