I was afraid this would happen because of the delay in finding him. May she rest in peace.

I just got back from an errand.. I don't know if this has been posted yet.
Carlie's body was found after "negotiations" with the suspect.I hope they did not offer this guy life, instead of the needle. He's been given enough breaks. He didn't offer Carlie life....

I see the drug abuse as more symptom than cause...it's self-medication for a mind that isn't "right".You have a point Sarah, but anyone that would stick a needle in their arm to "get off", doesn't have a "right" mind. They are sick. Without medical treatment they are a detriment to society. That's pretty obvious.

Amen. Saw a documentary on Charles Manson the other evening. It's unbelievable that the citizens of California are still paying his room and board, as well as all the other killers involved.I'm probably wrong, but isn't one of the gals (goofy name) out on the streets?

I will never forget as long as I live, the video taken in England of the two monsters dragging off the little toddler from the shopping mall.
Those two have been paroled from prison, given new identities and new homes for the families too.
Anyone doubt that Lionel Tate will be back behind bars before long?

People are purchasing artwork done by Manson.
We have some very sick people in this society and they're not all institutionalized.

Unemployed? Couldn't pay fines, etc.? And the judge didn't wonder where he got the $$$ to pay for those drugs? This creep probably is responsible for many other crimes including theft to support his drug habit. You can't be a cocaine/heroin user making only $300 a week.

Yes, I understood the article. I was referencing the bozos offering forgiveness for any heinous deed.

Printed out your post for my kids. We have talked about this but, they seem more willing to listen to others than Mom and Dad lately.

No needle in Florida. We fry 'em. Sometimes your head catches on fire before you die.

That does not signify forgiveness of killers/rapists of children to me. At least not by we mere humans. Indeed..
as a matter of fact there is only one person who can forgive and that is the injured party. That possibility has been eliminated by this POS murdering innocent Carlie.

Didn't he wait a day before issuing the Amber alert because he thought she was a runaway?

Carlie's body was found after "negotiations" with the suspect I imagine that the negotiations were focused more on him having a private cell (because a man who kills a young girl is going to be a huge target in prison) rather than avoiding the death penalty. You can get a conviction w/o a body, so I don't think they would have been pressured--especially this early in the case--to start offering deals on his sentence.
To: archy
Law enforcement officers say Smith, who has been convicted previously on felony drug charges, is not cooperating with authorities in Carlie's disappearance. Latest news is that he told them where the body was. I guess that's the final nail in his coffin.

You're right, we do have the death penalty here and we just utilized it this past week. I hope this monster burns in hell for eternity."
And if I heard correctly he was sitting on death row since 1985! How ridiculous is that. The taxpayers have to pay for these scum for years till they're executed.
To: YankeeGirl
It's time to dust off "Old Sparky" and let this guy partially roast several times, before finally letting him die a slow and painful death.

Let's hope for swift justice.

I hope they did not offer this guy life, instead of the needle. He's been given enough breaks. He didn't offer Carlie life....What exactly is "life" in FL? How soon will he be out on the streets? Texas learned the hard way back in the mid-late 70's. The liberals succeeded in getting the death sentence overturned which let many death row inmates out, free to roam the streets for their next victims. The death row inmates were then determined to have served their new sentence of 'life' (30 years) and throw in good time, well, all we could do was hold the door open for them. Needless to say what happened next...

I did a search on the Manson murderers, and found this "where are they now" on the Court TV website.

Unbelievable. Some of these cold blooded killers have actually gotten married while in prison. And it looks like the Tate family continues to suffer through one parole hearing after another.
