Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:
"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

If it was OK for Timberlake to rip open Janet Jackson's top and expose her to the world, by your logic, since a breast is merely a generic body part, you'd have no objection to any woman, anywhere, exposing a breast or two, or her pubic area?
In this culture, a woman whose breasts are exposed, in absence of a maternal feeding process, is being indecently exposed. In this culture, gratuitous exposing of breasts and pubic areas is considered obscene. Such acts are violations of long held community standards of decency.
Is that hard to comprehend?

is there any place we can watch a good ol' american sport without the Smut of MTV
Was your TV magically stuck on CBS during the halftime show? The only "raunchy" part that the sewing circlers are complaining about happened during a spot that's traditionally been a) week in entertainment value and b) pushing the limit every year. That's what remote controls are for.

I'll tell you the real problem with the halftime show: it sucked. Exactly. It sucked way before that. Who was the "performer" who was obviously compelled to touch his crotch every 1.8 seconds? I watch this crap and shake my head at the notion that people like this get paid obscene sums of cash. Absolutely no talent required.

I agree with you. I thought one rap song was enough. They all sound alike. I heard a few seconds of Kid Rock and flipped the channel.
We should be judged by our culture...and lack of it.

Is that hard to comprehend? I think Prodigal Son is on the wrong forum. Perhaps he should try DU.

CBS refused to air a Moveon.org commercial during the Super Bowl because they claimed they don't run "convroversy ads," and yet they do this during the Super Bowl?Actually, they said they don't run "advocacy ads".

Well, you didn't miss much.
They still had the crotch groping male. Nelly
Kid Rock is gross.
I didn't much care for who ever wore the American Flag as a shirt.
Janet and Justin needed to RENT A ROOM.
I thought it was cool that the University of Houston band got to participate though.
There was a young lady from church who was chosen to perform pre-game and halftime.(she's a high school cheerleader). I imagine her parents are both regretting that decision.

Janet and Justin are the latest item even though she is 40 or something and he is 22 anyways there stupid sexy dancing they were trying to project to the viewing audience who could of cared less, led them to Justin exposing Janet's "toto" it was laughable yet typical of
the crap MTV puts out...

I tell you what. I asked to break this off like adults.
You want to get personal about my wife?
Fine.
Watch your back.
Forever.
I don't f--k about when it comes to my family and you just crossed a line with me.
Complain to the mods. I don't care. Dude, relax. You are a friggin loose canon. You are being a hypocrite and then threatening me because of your hypocrisy. Its because of your words that prompted my comment.
I wont run to the mods as im not a baby. And I dont expect you to resort to violence for mere words on a message board.

You have to understand. This culture frowns upon that. That is just the way it is. Just as you may see it as a perfectly natural thing, you don't have the right to subject others to your personal moral standards who are offended by such.

I don't know about you or this fellow you are responding to but the last time I watched a superbowl was 7 or 8 years ago and then pushing the limit was to beer bottles playing football and not exposing breasts.
