Did Michael Douglas pull Danny Devito's penis out?
Apples and oranges.

'Are you saying it was a "booby trap"?' I hate it when I screw up the punch line.

I haven't dodged the question at all virago.
I have stated, emphatically, I have no problem with seeing naked female breasts.
Big ones, Little ones, Pert ones (should I go on, or is kristinn gonna start talking about cheerleaders and horses again).
As for whether children should see breasts, let's put it this way Virago. I've yet to hear of a child traumatised by a female breast.
Then again, I'm in that group that doesn't find the idea of hanging drapes on naked statues a good thing either...

Make sure she sends one to this email address:
www.fccinfo@fcc.gov I did, and sent the address out to all on my email list.

"I work really hard at preserving his childhood innocence which is no longer popular. Our kids are FORCED to grow up FAST! And it stinks! Stop thinking of yourself and think about the 5, 6, and 7 year olds watching a football game with their dads tonight!"
Ditto that.
Some of those posting tonight seem to have no idea of the meaning of "slippery slope," and no concept of what we're up against raising healthy children who are allowed to be *children*, in a world where their peers like Bratz and Britney and it's considered "cool" and "no big deal" by many that a woman exposes her bare breast in the middle of a football game.
To: NYCVirago
Hopefully lots of people will do the same.

Then I'll just be pissed at him for cutting a hole in it and making a poncho, then tossing it to a stage hand to discard.
Not only that, but he's also displaying our flag upside down. THAT signifies distress. Kid "rock" sucks!

At the risk of sounding like I've missed something, Howlin, how did Danny Devito's penis get into this conversation....?
It couldn't have been that whole horse thing...

Most of us have no trouble with the free market. And that includes us, the "free market," rejecting what happened on TV tonight. I'm baffled by your suggestion that rejecting prime-time bump-and-grind nudity is hypocritical...
To: LisaMalia
I think you just came up with a ratings coo!!...lol Just crap on mainstream America (literally), and get it over with.... After seeing that Charmin ad today, that halftime show may not be far off!

As for whether children should see breasts, let's put it this way Virago. I've yet to hear of a child traumatised by a female breast. So nudity on broadcast TV is A-OK with you. Glad you're on the record with that.
To: TonyBanks
'Are you saying it was a "booby trap"?' I think it was to boost her sagging career.

"I don't know where you got the idea I disapprove of people making money off of the super bowl."

"Let me help you find something offensive...
The amount of money spent on commercials for the SuperBowl
The amount of money spent on tickets for the SuperBowl
The amount of money spent on security for the SuperBowl
The amount of money spent on these ball players..."

I recommend posting any complaints to the F.C.C.

Then again, I'm in that group that doesn't find the idea of hanging drapes on naked statues a good thing either... So -- not wanting nudity on broadcast TV on family shows equals "hanging drapes on naked statues." Oh, and don't forget that anybody objecting to your standards is part of the Taliban. And yet you're the one complaining about other people's hyperbole here? Hypocrite.
To: NYCVirago
Again Virago, if you had bothered to read my response earlier, instead of simply shooting from the lip, and accusing me of dodging the question, you would have gotten to that a lot sooner and saved yourself, and me 3 posts.
However, one slight correction, just so you don't over assume, I said I'm not at all offended by Female Breasts. If to you, the sight of female breasts is the same as full nudity, or even full blown sex acts, is your problem entirely.
I mean, if I turn on TV an Barbara Walters comes on with her breasts out, I may turn the channel (or pluuck out my eyes, depending), but I'm certainly not going to be harassing the local PD, the FCC or wasting bandwidth decrying.

"And yet you're the one complaining about other people's hyperbole here? Hypocrite."
hehehehe It always comes down to name calling...
Geez, the sight of one breast really got you worked up didn't it Virago?
To: Lord_Baltar
Again Virago, if you had bothered to read my response earlier, instead of simply shooting from the lip, and accusing me of dodging the question, you would have gotten to that a lot sooner and saved yourself, and me 3 posts. No, I just wanted to see you state for yourself on the record that you support using the broadcast airwaves to show nudity to children. Which you do. No wonder you have such empathy for Janet -- you probably think her brother Michael's getting a raw deal!

Ok, while I know it's not right to wear the flag, my parents taught me well about the proper procedures concerning the American flag. These things I remember:
1) It should only be displayed in pristine condition. If it has any flaws, it should be replaced. (One of my pet peeves is to see an American flag flown in tatters, and I see that all the time.)
2) When you dispose of the American flag after it is flawed, it should be burned as a means of disposal.
3)You don't wear the American flag as clothing.
4)You should *never*, under any circumstances, let the flag touch the ground.
That said, although Kidd Rock may have broken one of the rules above, he DID NOT let the flag touch the ground. I was watching carefully. The person behind him caught it in the air.
I have to give him kudos, as being the one saving grace of the entire halftime fiasco. Although not perfect, at least he showed his patriotism.

If I want to see some freak's boob or other bodypart I consider private, I will go to a red-light district. What was the date that you chose to redefine what was appropriate to show on television, or do the wonderfully moral people from Hollywood get to decide and you are just agreeing with them?
If someone exposes themself in front of my children I reserve the right to BUST THEIR FILTHY SKULL. I am sure the fact that it was on television (not in person) saved many fathers from assault charges.(those perves knew exactly what they were doing, just like when they grab their crotch for the camera).
If you want to see porn, knock yourself out, but you are not the one to choose when my children see nudity, and you don't get to decide for me what is nudity and what is harmless.
You, Hillary and the hippies all would agree that the porn show was just groovy.
I request that you do not engage in building another strawman argument and tearing it down.
