Did anyone else see if Justin Timberlake pulled off Janet Jackson's top?

Some fools are not naive. They are perverting their own children by choice.

Just curious. Where would you draw the line on public displays at the nationally televised Super Bowl halftime show for all ages? Full nudity okay? Or just topless?

How about sexual acts between a man and woman, or mano a mano, femme et femme, adult and child, cheerleader and a Clydesdale, or masturbation?

Aw c'mon! We're only having some harmless fun. Why don't you post some breast shots of family members here? Let's all have a good laugh!

All of these people are disgusting liars, and I'll tell 'em so to their faces.

There are MANY indications that they're lying:

1) This stunt was publicized in advance by MTV, in an article entitled Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Show Promises 'Shocking Moments'

2) Matt Drudge has a source who tells us, "The decision to go forward went to the very top of the [CBS] network."

3) The video clearly shows that the exposure of Ms. Jackson's breast was fully choreographed with the last line of the song: "I'll get you naked by the end of this song."

4) In the video, Jackson very much appears to be deliberately positioning herself for the stunt. A split second before, she was waving her hands in front of her and dancing with her feet. When Timberlank reaches her side, she drops her hands and stands there absolutely still, waiting, while he slowly moves his hand across her chest to the far side of her breast. It is obviously a pre-arranged move, agreed upon by Jackson.

5) The video shows that Justin Timberlake's ripping off Jackson's breast-covering was an entirely deliberate action: he walks up, "stops" her, then his hand moves smoothly and deliberately into position, and then rips the covering off in a smooth, sharp motion.

6) The backward motion is smooth, and Janet Jackson was not pulled sideways at all by any resistance of fabric, indicating that the cup was specifically designed to come off quite easily.

7) The separation of the cup from the costume is clean and complete - if the cup were not designed to be easily and completely removed, it would merely have been torn and left dangling. Instead, we can't see even a dangling thread.

8) Jackson's hands go up, but only to her waist. This is not likely the action of a woman who has unexpectedly had her breast exposed in public. Such a woman would far more likely move to immediately cover her breast.

9) Jackson has her nipple at least mostly covered by the star, not likely a comfortable thing to wear while dancing on stage. The obvious usefulness of this is to prevent the full, obvious public exposure of her nipple.

I don't live in Houston, and my small children who tuned into the show with me missed the performance literally by seconds, so I probably shouldn't be the person to complain. But somebody, in my opinion, should file a formal complaint with the Houston police and demand that Jackson and Timberlake be charged in accordance with that city's laws, citing the specific points above in writing as evidence that the law was deliberately broken. Any takers?

That picture may not be from the Super Bowl show....I found it on another thread....but I saw what he was wearing and it was an actual flag cut with a slit so he could wear it like a poncho.

I know he has been great supporter of our troops but it would have shown more respect if he had arranged to have someone hold a flag on a pole.

Well kristinn, since the question is completely ridiculous in the context of this discussion, I'll leave it to your obviously furtile imagination...

Are you sure you aren't a member of the Supreme Court? (as in Lawrence vs Kansas was just a privacy issue). It's just a breast being exposed...so after the next Superbowl I expect that you will propose, "It's just a penis." Then in two years you will post, "It's just intercourse."

I told you. A breast is not indecent or offensive. Janet Jackson exposing herself at that place and time was indecent and offensive.

Actually, why don't you answer his question? It seems entirely appropriate given your comments on this thread.

Anyone know what the public nudity laws are in Houston? (It'd be fun to have competing "Jackson Trial" threads on FR)

Like many others here, I was disgusted with the whole half-time show. We watched it with friends and family and I have to tell you, while it was a good game, the entertainment (if one is so inclined to call it that) was abysmal. I was disgusted from the beginning. The Aerosmith tribute was insulting to men and women who lived lives and stood for exactly the opposite of that group of misfits. What's the deal with Nelly grabbing himself, Kid Rock donning the flag as a costume and the not so accidental disrobing of Ms. Jackson.

Television continues to offer the lowest common denominator and we are supposed to be grateful. I for one have had it. No more half-time for us and we are writing to each and every one of the sponsors, the NFL and CBS and MTV. Heads should roll for this one.

I heard on the radio that the streaker is being charged for public lewdness and I believe Ms. Jackson & Mr. Timberlake should experience nothing less.

No, it's a serious question. What are your standards for this situation?

They think they're doing their kids a favor by exposing them to things they (the adults) think are interesting and funny.

I'd love to give some of them a book by Joseph Chilton Pierce on the influences of media on children, but I'm not sure whether I want them to read it or just take it right between the eyes.

They may also be chargeable in other laws, especially as this stunt was viewed by families all across the United States.

Well, folks, I didn't watch the $uper Bowl tonight. I never do. That entire sport is full of nothing but a bunch of drug-abusing, overpaid morons.

Give me a good competitive High School football game - now that's sports. Better yet, give me a women's basketball game - of any level - because they are playing for the GAME... not money, not for fame, not to get a lucrative sneaker deal, and not even to get laid.. they play purely for the joy of the sport.

No, folks, every year I use $tupor Bowl night to go to Home Depot and Lowe's.... they are EMPTY and the shopping's great!!

There can be no question that MTV planned this for publicity reasons.

QUOTE: I don't think the Super Bowl has ever seen a performance like this," Duldulao added. "The dancing is great. She's more stylized, she's more feminine, she's more a woman as she dances this time around. There are some shocking moments in there too.

I should also note that if they expected the star to be sufficient covering to give them any kind of legal out, it wasn't.
