Did anyone else see if Justin Timberlake pulled off Janet Jackson's top?

Exactly!!!! Advertisers WANT to be talked about - to create a Buzz, whether it's for something extrodinarily good they did or extrodinarily bad. As long as people are talking.

Yes, but this wasn't an ad, it was the Super Bowl halftime show. Bring back U2 -- that was the only good halftime show I can remember!

Anyone who was "shocked" by this has apparently been asleep for several years.

We had company over for the game. They were as disgusted as we were. Most of us chatted for a while after half time, then called it a night. Only one person is still watching the game here. The ads were as tacky as the "entertainment". CBS pulled off the most trashy setting for any game in NFL history. Awful.

I know - the horse passing wind ad was the bellweather of the evening - I started flipping after that - but it went from bad to worse, and after Janet's breast I decided FR was more interesting than the superbowl.

"BTW, could CBS's announcers make a football game any more boring?"

I thought it was just me. I have the game on in the background and they're putting me to sleep!

Not exactly, but adults would usually send the children out of the room before tuning in the Spice Channel. Perhaps not before watching the Super Bowl.

My sister was watching it with her four-year-old -- needless to say, she wasn't happy.

Rush was booted from ESPN for making a comment contrived as racist by his enemies.

Jimmy the Greek (dating myself) was fired for saying something to the effect that blacks were better atheletes because they were bred for strength in the days of slavery.

Howard Cossell was fired because he said "Look at that little monkey run!" during a Monday night football game.

Rush's remark was not racist and if memory serves, neither Jimmy the Greek or Horward Cosell were known as racists. They all paid the ultimate price, losing their job.

As a parent, I find this much more damaging than any of the above. We owe it to our kids to demand full accountabilty for this. If we accept a meaningless apology, we have relinquished more of our parental authority and have let slide another example of sports = sex.

How cute!! BTW, isn't it nice that little kids can admire our President again? Our grandson (8yrs) calls me when he see's the President on the news sometimes. To tell me to watch, that the President is saying something that is really important, or interesting.

BTW, it seems our 8 and 9 year olds have more common sense than the executives at CBS!

Simms is OK, but Greg is the brother of Bryant Gumbel...which makes him off limits.

Oh, so it's a common thing to have bare breasts on network tv during the world's biggest sporting event? C'mon, there was a line crossed tonight.

To me she just proves they totally disregard propriety regarding children. They are above the law.

I hope she gets charged with indecent exposure. I think we should call Houston police and have her arrested for indecent exposure.

Have the Houston Police been called to arrest her yet?

Perhaps she just pulled this off in the WRONG city?

You don't mess with TEXAS!!

"The NFL hired MTV to do the halftime show, they knew what they were getting."

You purchased the TV set and changed channels to this presentation. You knew what you were getting!

The Stupor Bowl half-time shows always suck...so perhaps the J.J. stunt was an appropriate symbol.
The ads this year were definitely sub-par, though. Budweiser ought to be flogged for the horny chimp ad, aimed at the beastiality crowd, I guess.

The NFL wasn't there during the rehearsals??

Trying to cover their butts after the fact.

They should have covered Janet's boobs during the show instead.

Cowards.

P.S. They should have also told everyone to ditch the crotch-grabbing and the other garbage.
