YEAH....he sold America on TAX CUTS for EVERYONE....including the RICH.....took their rates down from 70% to 36%.....but, hey, you probably we're barely a wee one then and it didn't matter to you.

No, I buy into the don't tax me concept.

Ah, but you see, when they "tax the rich" they are taxing you. "The rich" are the men and women who are risking their own funds to provide jobs for perhaps 20 to 30 families. Those 20 to 30 families are the ones who buy cars, hire plumbers, clothe their children, pay property taxes etc. When you "tax the rich" you are going to eliminate probably 2 to 3 families receiving those paychecks. They won't be buying cars etc. Then the car makers will have layoffs, and the banks will have layoffs, and the stores will have layoffs. That WILL impact you, whether you like to admit it or not.

We're already giving lots of money to all sorts of people, rich and poor. We just aren't bringing in the money to pay for it. I'd rather see big gubmint paid for than big gubmint plus big debt. So, taxes must be collected right? While we all wait for the limited gubmint that will never happen? So then the question is who's taxes? I, like most other sane people, especially oppose MY OWN TAXES being raised. Oh my gosh, what a shocking revelation!

Dan, just saw that quote earlier tonight on FR.

The Republicans need to jump on Kerry's quotes--Kerry is being unchallenged and the media is trumpeting every lie that comes from his mouth. Like the good Dim lapdogs they are.

Why am I not surprised by that? :-)

The Patriot Act passed the Senate 98-1 (Feingold voted against it; Landrieu didn't vote.) But you'd never know that from the anti-Patriot Act rhetoric by all the Democratic candidates, and Hillary too!

Look, all sorts of things impact all of us. There's no question. But if the president took a poll on two tax plans, one that taxes me more and one that doesn't, let's just say it wouldn't require deep thought.

If I had $900 to spare, I'd buy a copy of his now out of print book "The New Soldier".

And set up a letter to the editor campaign all over the country starting around July citing quotes from that book. Get them in all the local papers across the country showing how much of a traitor he is.

Time to send the gigolo back to Boston, permanently.

Yeah....and in a true democracy if you were the lamb and the other 3 were the wolves....and a poll was taken for what was on the dinner menu....YOU would be the dinner....LOL. Like I said, hope you never are "rich."

You want taxes raised on one segment of the population simply because they can "afford" it. That is Marxist and has no basis in conservative philosophy. Everything beyond that is just more Marxist rationalization to bolster the original Marxist proposition.

No. Affording it has nothing to do with it. Take cigarette taxes. I don't care about them at all. Why? You guessed it. I don't smoke cigarettes. Affordability has nothing to do with what I am saying. Neither does being rich. It has to do with not being a sucker.

Well goodneswins, that lamb and wolf situation is the situation we have now. Did I ask for a social security program? A medicare program? marriage counseling? all sorts of local boondoggles? Big spending on NEA and adventures in space? No, sir. I asked for none of it. But your wolves must have it, and so it must be paid for.

As for me, I feel rich already. It's never enough, but my wife and I are doing the best we can. And we want to keep as much as we can. That's priority #1.

Which is why you and your wife are not, and probably will not EVER be earning $250,000. You can look forward to a life of druging working for someone else, retireing on a pitance and probably not caring if you live or die. You are short sighted and deserve no more than what you have now. Better get used to it.

Interesting. I wonder what I would have done. I think I might have voted for it, because certain items were probably urgently needed. But that wouldn't have kept me from coming back later to criticize parts that I didn't like at all, but accepted in the short run for security reasons.

So lemme get this straight. You think that if I were given two choices, one that raises my taxes, and one that doesn't, that I should choose the one that raises MINE??? You first! LOL.

You are right about one thing. I do look forward to a life of druging [sic]. As for working for someone else or not, to tell you the truth, I am on the fence. On the one hand, getting a steady check every two weeks is a nice comfort. Not nearly as much to worry about as a self-employed person. But, nothing lasts forever, and jobs aren't guarenteed. So you can't take it for granted, and I don't. But please, you're not going to shame me into signing on for more than I have to. That's called being a sucker.

Put it this way. Imagine two candidates that are identical on every issue except taxes. On that issue, one has a plan that raises YOUR taxes, the other has a plan that raises SOMEONE ELSE's. On all the other issues, they are the same and you agree with them on the other issues. So, c'mon. Please Mr. I deserve a life of misery, who you gonna pick?

Why don't you get your head out of your behind, and start blaming the right people? President Bush is trying to reform these liberal boondoggles that have become the third rail. Talk about your tagline, if the libs held all three branches of Gov. you would'nt even have a wallet. Rooseveldt had all three, Johnson had all three, and we got SS and Medicare. I wonder what all the people did for 150 yrs? There was 10% needy in 1780 and it has not changed.

I'm going to pick the one who has the long term best interests of the country at heart. You see, I can see further then the nose on my face.

I can see what the long term effects are, and that they will affect me and my family even if they don't right at the minute. You see, Dubya's tax cut didn't really impact on me. The marriage penalty remission didn't apply to me, the child credit didn't apply to me, but I know good and well that it's important to the economy and that DOES apply to me.

You see, the funny thing about personal greed is that it inevitably takes money from the pockets of the greedy.
