John Kerry took reporters for a ride in Iowa, and it wasnt just while he was taking stabs at President Bush for landing on an aircraft carrier as he himself flew around with the press in an helicopter over the corn fields. The reunion scene in which Kerry seeming completely stunned at the site of the Vietnam pal he rescued during his war days must have been enough to give the Grinch himself a case of the warm fuzzies.
Kerry rescued Jim Rasmann after heavy enemy gunfire, before going on to become one of the wars biggest protestors. The two hadnt seen each other since.
But, according to the American Spectator, Rassman contacted the Kerry campaign days before the celebrated "reunion rally.
Well, the Kerry Campaign isnt stupid. After being flown to Iowa, Rassman just happened to be standing smack in the middle of a press gaggle when Kerry "spotted him and the two hugged.
It was about as moving as a slow-motion scene from a 70s movie, except everyone knew about it days ahead of time.
"It was a wonderful, moving moment," says a Kerry volunteer. "We were briefed on it before the event, and told to steer cameras to a certain area. Reporters knew about it in advance, and so did Senator Kerry. We don't leave anything like this to chance."
Kerrys "surprise lasted well into the day.

Mr. "throw someone elses medals over the fence" is stage managing this event too? I, personally, am shocked. So when are we going to learn that is wasn't Rasmussen who contacted Kerry but the other way around?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Kerry will melt-down under the glare of TV lights, either during the primaries, or as the Dem candidate. He has an entire airplane hangar full of skeletons, let alone a closet-full.

This surprises me not one bit. The staging of the whole thing was just too perfect. It couldn't have been chance.

How could this have been staged?
Why, I'm sure that Rasmussen looks exactly the same as he did when he was in Vietnam.

I think much of Kerry's life has been scripted. Maybe that is typical for those with political aspirations from an early age.

And when President Bush lands on a carrier which is returning from very lengthy deployment and has a banner TO ITS CREW stating "Mission Accomplished", Kerry and the press conveniently forgets that small detail and bashes Bush for exploiting the military.
Kerry is such a huge hypocrit it's mind-boggling. Somebody who has to stage reunions is not trustworthy to run the country. Who knows what else would be "staged"?
Kerry is a liar and a cheat.

Indeed. There are no coincidences in presidential campaigns. The real story here is that the press played along with it -- or, it would be, if they didn't do it so often.

I'm SHOCKED, SHOCKED!! PravdABDNC was in on it too, how predictable. Wonder who called who to set this up. Yaaaawn Kerry was hinting about a big surprise on Fox a couple days earlier and this was probably it. Sure helped cement that war hero vote!! Maybe the next reunion can be with his dope smoking war protesting buds??? The internet is not a good thing for Rats!

The media is part of the Kerry campaign. Much as they were part of McCain's Straight Talk bullship campaign.

That has to be the case because Kerry has been in public life for years and Rasmussen never surfaced.

Excellent point.

Will he have a tender reunion with Hanoi Jane Fonda?
Hanoi Jane is probably looking forward to sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom if her buddy gets elected. Our job is to make sure that that never happens.
