When I mentioned my suspicions to some of the RATS that I work with, they of course branded me as someone who hates gays and the fact that a General in the Army could be a RAT. I cant wait to show them this thread tomorrow. and, remind them that I'm not hateful, I've just got good instincts.

"There are an awful lot of people," a retired four-star general told the Washington Post, "who believe Wes will tell anybody what they want to hear and tell somebody the exact opposite five minutes later." ...
FAIR, the media watchdog, dug up some of Clark's former columns on the war in Iraq.
"Let's have those parades on the Mall and down Constitution Avenue," Clark wrote on April 10th in The Times of London.
"American military power," he crowed, the next day, in the same paper, "especially when buttressed by Britain's, is virtually unchallengeable today."
"Take us on? Don't try!"

CLARK WAS BIG ADVOCATE OF BOMBING VIEQUES
DEBORAH ORIN & VINCENT MORRIS, NY POST -
Wesley Clark was an ardent advocate of live-fire bombing on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques - putting him at odds with virtually every Democrat in New York, The Post has learned. It also puts Clark in conflict on the emotional issue with one of his most important backers in Congress - Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan). Rangel said the revelation would not stop him from supporting Clark, but added, "I hope that when he's elected, over a drink I can give him hell over
Vieques."
. . . "I fully support every possible effort to continue the training at Vieques," Clark told the Senate Armed Services Committee in February 2000. "To provide our soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen with less than this optimum training in the future would be unconscionable, cause undue casualties and place our nation's vital interests at risk," he wrote in 1999.
During the Clinton administration, Clark opposed a four-month bombing moratorium, claiming that sailors and Marines "may not be fully combat ready" without Vieques' "realistic live-fire strike-warfare training."

Before you judge the Demo candidates, please realize that they were all, in a sense, picked by billandhill and each comes with a tragic flaw that makes him unelectable. If they continue to disintegrate, perhaps the beautiful and charming junior senator fron NY would consent to fill the void.
It appears that Gen Clark has lace or is perhaps pandering for votes.

From the article:
"Q: I know your son was married recently. If your son had been born gay, would you want him to have the same rights that he enjoys today?
A: I would want him to have the right to have a stable relationship. But whether you call it marriage or not is up to the church or the synagogue or the mosque. And its up to the state legislatures. I think marriage is a term of art. Its a term of usage. But the legal side of it is not: Its not negotiable."
"..marriage is a
term of art" ??? I wonder which one of his advisors fed him that line .... Madonna or Clinton.
The general might wanna rethink that statement. The bond of marriage was established by God at creation and the significance of that covenant was emphasized by Christ first miracle at the wedding in Cana.

I don't think he is gay but he is obviously going for the gay vote. Which, being a Dem, is smart to do and he HAS to do. I consider myself very tolerant, I have several gay friends, and even the gay marriage question is not that important to me. If they want to get married I say who cares? Especially when there are more important issues out there - like the frickin Arabs trying to kill us.
Having said that, for any candidate to be on the cover of Advocate magazine in that outfit is disgusting.
To: cyncooper
"Bill Clinton told me himself he had nothing to do with it, And I believe him."I just spewed my drink all over the keyboard.
Clark believes Clinton? I don't need any more reason than this to repudiate Clark as a serious candidate. The man is clearly a mental incompetent.

I'm definitely a Serb apologist so I guess I don't get to have an opinion. I do wonder, however, how was the honorable general tricked to appearing on the cover of a fagazine looking like he was on the way to cruise the men's room of the nearest public park?
To: stop_fascism
To paraphrase Mark Steyn (who always says it so much better) Dean is a sane guy trying to act crazy, while Clark's a crazy guy pretending to be sane.
To: conserv13
In magazine interview Clark probably said he "lusted in his heart" for the guys on "Queer Eye"...

I want to read the story about the gay teen who has his boyfriends on a Children's show! Want to make sure no kid I know of watches that show!
Don't care a wit about Clark. He is a liar. I could not believe how he told Tom Brokaw to "watch it!" when Brokaw dared ask him about his flip flop over the war.
Then the lies he has spread about Judge Pickering! My word! Did you see that on "Scarbourough country"? They caught him hands down bald faced lying about an honorable man!

What happened to this thread. I was reading it and it disappeared. Pulled by a moderator and NOW it's back? Anyone else notice that??? What's going on here?
To: conserv13
Seems everybody's laughing at this picture; not me- - Color me square, but I'm appalled, not amused. A general in the army of Washington, Grant, Pershing, Patton and Eisenhower is sporting himself like a male prostitute - and thinks it's cute? Doesn't he realize that his status as a general in the American Army (albeit "retired") carries a responsbility to uphold that noble institution's image? His behavior is the closest thing to a secular blasphemy or a sacrilege that I can think of. Shows our society really is on a sled heading downhill.
To: cyncooper
Didn't bj clinton actually fire Clark? This is why I don't understand the clinton's backing this man....
