National leaders of six conservative organizations yesterday broke with the Republican majorities in the House and Senate, accusing them of spending like "drunken sailors," and had some strong words for President Bush as well...

I like the 2 party system. It will be a cold day in Hades when we go to the one party system (Democrats) and a half dozen irrelevant third parties.

"I don't think the Constitution Party stands much of a chance but it's about time some of these groups did something like this to get the GOP's attention."

I couldn't agree with this statement more. You're absolutely right!!

Not now. I am still a republican and I do see (understand) the strategy of the President who has always described himself as a compassionate conservative and not a doctrinaire conservative.

I am encouraged to hear that there is work being done at the local level.

However, when the big race (the Presidency) is vacated by the Constitution Party, they then give the impression of irrelevance. It would be better if they at least endorsed one of the 2 likely winners of the election rather than do nothing.

If someone commandeered your front yard, would you allow them to take it over or would you go outside on the step and tell them to take a hike?

When the Whig party became corrupt, conservatives abandoned it and started the Republican party. Now that the same has happened to the GOP, why would principled conservatives want to keep the party name that is now looked upon as corrupt?

You are here voluntarily. You gave voluntarily. You can leave voluntarily anytime you wish. There is absolutley no one forcing you to post here. And no one forced you to donate. But while you're here, you can leave off the personal attacks or you will be suspended or banned accordingly. Your donation does not give you license to attack others. And no you will not be successful using your suspension for personal attacks as reason for returning your donation.

Ya'll are far to entertaining to watch trying to morph a socialist into a conservative. Besides, I paid my money, get JimRob to give it back and I'll just shut up and watch.

And this look like it's going to be a fun thread, I'll give it 4 KarlMarxRoves:

Just remember, the CP are a very small minority, and they will always be way out there on the fringe.

Buchannan ran in 2000 because the fringies convinced him they could pull off an upset. They garnered barely 1% of the vote. It will be the same way this election.

The elected Republicans are very savvy as to what the public demands. If there is as much division in the party as the fringe claims, they will tow it in and please the majority of the base as they usually have.

But the bulk of the Republicans in this country do not even know that this forum exists so very few people see this bickering going on.

This is a conservative gathering place, not a tool of some GOP groupie mutual admiration society.

Yes it is and a good debate should be encouraged. Now I see you would like to see your vote diluted and a Democrat elected by 40% of the vote frome here on out so we could all really bitch. Then we could do away with the 2nd amendment, have abortion on demand without a fight, pay 70% of our earnings in taxes, get rid of the pledge, have homosexual marriage legalized by the Supreme Court, let the U.N. run our foreign policy and use the world court and its laws as a basis for our laws not the Constitution.

Because you see if you are honest you know Bush would do the opposite of what I just wrote.

See reply 34, I have found a new home.

If I hadn't already made a generous contribution to FR in the FReepathon, I'd be gone.

I sent 2 emails already to JimRob asking for my money back but he hasn't replied.

Are you happy now, putupon? You must be proud of yourself, and people like you, for driving folks away from FR.

Lets think of how far we have come in the past ten years

Okay...in the last three "we" have grown the government more than at any time since LBJ.

I don't think we can afford to come much further.

No one is forcing you to stay Republican. I'm sticking with the party that best fits me in general and has more clout nationally, and that happens to be the Republican party. If you feel the Republican party is corrupted, it's your personal choice to move somewhere where you feel happier, and not to convince others that they will feel happier elsewhere.

Conservatives don't help liberal democrats win.

They also don't help GOPs who co-opt liberal ideals win either because the result is the same.

Conservatives don't help liberal democrats win.

Conservatives don't make excuses for the greatest growth of government since LBJ.

get JimRob to give it back and I'll just shut up and watch.

JIM, give it back! I guarantee your cost of doing business will decrease to your over all profit!

Take the loss as a bad business decision write-off.

Your business aggression in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Only a few conservatives see the GOP as a whole of being corrupt. There will be a few of the like in all ideologies. But don't condemn the furure of all conservatives because you label them all as corrupt.

That would be quite corrupt in itself on your part.

"If this was a Conservative gathering place, why are you espousing others to join up with some irrelevant third party?
Doing so would fragment Conservatives into a half dozen irrelevant third parties, allowing Democrats to hijack the Republican party"

Sad to report the Republican party has already been hijacked and is no longer conservative.

Ok Rooster can you name me anything Bush is conservitive on? If you can't see the strategery of this administration I don't know what to say. I know this;

1. Bush is not a phoney or a liar.

2. Bush is pro life and has shifted the entire debate on the subject.

3. Bush is pro second amendment.

4. Bush would nominate conservitive judges to the courts, not moderates.

5. Bush would not allow the U.N. or any other body to dictate policy to America.

Every liberal running for Pres. and most not running for Pres. are exactly the opposite.

Nice try, but ultimately, I see the first job of the federal government as defending the United States against foreign enemies. Right now, the most active and vicious of those enemies are the Muslim jihadists. I don't agree with every policy of the Bush administration. In fact, I truly hate some of his policies. However, he is taking the fight to our enemies. We have to fight and destroy and keep doing both until our enemies either surrender or are eliminated.

From everything I've heard, the CP is opposed to our war against the enemy jihadists. All of the CP writings that I have see suggest that we shouldn't be fighting them. Many CP'ers seem stuck in the liberal lie that we should not have dealings with the Middle East, should ban all cars so that we wouldn't need oil, and should be glad to see the jihadists finish what Hitler started. I may agree with CP'ers on a few issues, but they lose my vote on this basis.
