Conservative groups break with Republican leadership

The Constitution Party isn't so virtuous. I remember Howard Philips ads before the 2000 election. He was running against Bush, not Gore. I realized then Philips was no different than any other candidate. He was doing it for his own ego.

They got less than one percent of the vote in 2000. They are egotists just like Buchanan. They are spoilers and nothing more.

That brand of Congressman wouldn't get my vote from that point on, I don't care which party he/she belonged to. He won't get my vote, I told him, "I would remember how he voted the next time I vote". I'm not hanging Bush for it, I just see him supporting and promoting the spending bills and other liberal agenda's. He is the first President in quite a long time to NOT veto any spending bills.

That is what it looks like, maybe that is not what he is doing, but it sure looks like he would much rather cozy up to the demo rats and leave his base at home.

Those are probably the same kind of questions they were asking about the Republican Party when it came on the scene as a new "third party" back in the 1800's.

Yup. Truth is, we're all human beings. There is no perfect candidate. We must go for the best we can get and Bush is a heck of a lot better than any Dumbocrat.

Okay...in the last three "we" have grown the government more than at any time since LBJ.

In the last three years "we" (with no help from you) have put Al Qaeda on the run, captured hundreds of them, captured Saddam Hussein, put the Taliban out of business, and thwarted several AQ attacks, liberated the Afghanis and the Iraqis, freed Iraqi children from prison, stopped the mass murder and torture -- not to mention outlawed PBA, took a stand against joining the ICC, got a good conservative Judge in the Fifth Circuit, received several tax cuts, just for starters.

Don't you mean, who has the best chance of winning, not the best candidate. Remember how the conservatives stabbed McClintock in the back to support the liberal Schwarzenegger.

The only difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is that the Democrats want the US ruled by a combination of national and international despots while the Republicans will settle for tyranny by just national despots. The end result is the same - the destruction of our freedom.

Given the objectives of both parties are the same, how can anyone justify supporting either party?

Yeah, by joining together to exert some real clout. Fragmenting Conservatives across the Republican, Constitution, Libertarian, and other assorted Parties, as suggested by some on the "Right," is a formula for disaster.
