Conservatives Should Support the President Now and in November Because…

You hear it in the coffee shops all over the "red areas" of the map. Everyone knows that is where the real politics is discussed in America. Conservatives are asking themselves, "What was the President thinking?" They might be talking about No Child Left Behind, or steel tariffs or the signing of many less than conservative bills.

In the coffee shops in the "blue areas," liberals don't sit around much. They are too angry and busy to stop for a while but many are thinking that President Bush is the most conservative president in years, since "oh, my God, Reagan," and he must be stopped.

Both of these assessments cannot be true and after spending years looking at politics, I took my first serious stand on a candidate in 1968 at the tender age of 9, if both sides are mad at you, you are probably on the right track. So why should conservatives and moderates support the President, now on issues and later this year at the ballot box?

Based on the history of this President, we better not count him out till we see how things unfold. He is what conservatives asked for in a President. He cut taxes, got our economy going again and lives and breathes the safety of this country and the people in it. When it is all said and done, George W. Bush does what he believes is right for the American people and he is willing to stand on his record in November.

You are doing the right thing in joining a Republican Group. If the Republican Conservatives are to survive than it is important to work within the Party.

I do not agree with President Bush 100% but he will have my vote this next November. Why? Because I tried to teach the Republican Party a lesson by voting for Perot. I sure taught them a lesson alright, eight years of Clinton. I will never do that again....

but choosing between UN driven Nation Building and NeoCon driven Nation Building is a toss up in my book. IMO, both entities are as morally corrupt and untrustworthy as it gets.....so I'm leaning towards opting for the UN.

Were I an Inuit (they don't really like being called Eskimo) I would not think I would have to buy ice. That point aside, the LP has been around for over 20 years and in that time the electorate has largely ignored the party. There are reasons for this and one of them is that the Republicans like to talk like Reagan and vote like Carter. In the time that all you so-called conservatives have been voting for the Republicrats, have you gotten any bones tossed to you by the elites like the Bushes? Is the govt smaller and less intrusive then it was 20 years ago. Sure, the Republicrats had a convenient excuse; a dem in the whitehouse, dem majority in HOR, dem majority in Senate. Where are the excuses now? The have all 3 and what do they decide to give you? A much larger DOE, free govt drugs for greedy-geezers, deficit spending, CFR, amnesty for illegals.

The real fools are the ones that believe that they must work within the 2-party system. It only takes a plurality of people to wake up. Unfortunately, common sense is in short supply and common sense seems to have been outlawed.

And congratulations on not needing a lifetime of settling. Some people are obviously proud of the fact that they will fall for anything and stand in line like a fool waiting for the promises to come true.

Sadly, Reagan did grant an amnesty and the results were disastrous. We should have learned from that mistake, but 20 years later, we have APPEASABLES apologizing for Bush for proposing it again.

Yes he cut taxes. But the States have gone on a tax increase binge to pay for illegals, poor, education and security mandates. Our taxes in Vegas have gone up all across the board! Yet he wants to open the floodgates and bankrupt the American taxpayer even more! What is he thinking? That tax cut is a joke compared to the rise on the State level!
