Boy bashing: Some say girl power movement may have gone too far

"When I first saw that, I was taken aback," says Greene, 51, a long time volunteer with her son's former Boy Scout troop in San Leandro. "I remember thinking, 'Why?"'

The image on the shirt shows a row of rocks hurtling through the air toward a stick-figure boy's head.

Harmless humor or injurious insult?

Opinions differ, but consumers have embraced anti-boy products, such as the "throw rocks" T-shirt created by

Clearwater, Fla.-based David and Goliath, which also markets journals with the same slogan, pajamas that read "Boys are smelly" and T-shirts emblazoned with "Lobotomy: How to train boys."

It's a chorus of messages that some parents, psychologists and parenting experts worry undermines the self-esteem and healthy development of young men in a society that subtly and sometimes overtly questions their worth in areas from education to child rearing.

"What are you talking about? I never pinged you to this thread! You seem to be delusional." I don't think so.. I know so. I am 100% what is going on here. Lets not forget you have left "paper trails" that anyone who wants to see can look to , if they take the time to do so.

IT would take me mere moments to point it out, with links and references to back up my findings.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when at first we try to deceive.

I don't think I am the one who is delusional sir, madame, sir.. oh whichever it is today.

You admit that you are delusional. That's a start to recovery. Good for you. I'm sure you will be able to get help for that. I'll pray for you.

I am 100% what is going on here.

Yes, I would agree that you are 100% what is going on here. I'm so happy that you are admitting the truth. The truth shall set you free.

As for having pinged you here. Yes, there is a paper trail (or more appropriately a virtual paper trail), and if you will please reference post #8, it was Old Student who pinged you here. If you have a problem with that, please take it up with him.

As for TWS, I don't see anywhere that TWS has claimed a spousal relationship with Old Student. If such exists anywhere other than in your imagination, please reference the thread and post #.

Too many here want to fix the situation by making it punishable for both rather than just getting rid of the silliness all together and letting kids be kids.

So you're going to "get rid of the silliness altogether" by waving your magic wand?

The fact is guys like you that won't stand up to political correctness are the reason we have it in the first place.

"Ignore it, and it'll go away." Boy, that sure takes a yard of guts.

Can't you get it through your skull we're not the ones that started not letting kids be kids! It's not up to us, and if it's gonna be stopped, guys like you are going to actually have to oppose the people that DID start it. You want a lesson on how these people think? Try reading something by Tammy Bruce.

Come on Cathryn. Surely we should expect a little more insightful response from you than ad homenim whinging.

*True. And yet, ad homenim whinging about Nietzsche, Freud, and Plato can be so enjoyable.*

So I'll take that as a "no" then.

You are one of those that think the way to defeat liberal political correctness is to create an opposite political correctness. That might be momentarily satisfying for you to get back at the other side, but it does nothing for a Free Republic.

Okay. So you agree with Plato, Freud, and Nietzsche?

So this is the third &*##%*-ing time I'm asking you...

Save your witless platitudes and tell me what your plan for returning to those bygone days when cooties were the worst boys faced!

Okay. So you agree with Plato, Freud, and Nietzsche?

So the alternative to noting the quality of your reasoning is agreement with Plato, Freud, and Nietzsche?

No; I'm trying to figure out which perspective you see things from so that I can either rip your argument apart or agree with you.

So far, you're kind of boring me.

Call me paranoid if you wish, but to me the "why" is clear as a bell.

Read up on your Gramsci -- the point is, over time, to undermine the traditional US power structure, which, like it or not, is WASP.

All Hollywood programming, the NEA directed US educational system, drugs, music, MTV, TV sitcoms, advertising campaigns, newspapers, "minority rights", "abortion rights", the whole gay and lesbian thing...

..these are all meant to get young WASP males to lose heart, to not get married and not have children.

The remaining minorities, so the socialist elite believe, are much more maleable and will not offer resistance when the elites grasp power worldwide in the New World Order.

How does my perspective have any bearing on the argument you'll put forward? So far all I've seen from you is adolescent puling wrapped in literary competence.

Entertaining you is not my goal.

It won't have any effect on my opinion. However, it may affect the way that I put forward my opinion.

So far all I've seen from you is adolescent puling wrapped in literary competence.

Interesting. I particularly like your use of the uncommon word "puling".

Entertaining you is not my goal.

You know, this is rather entertaining, despite your efforts.

So, do you want to have a discussion about this issue?

One the one hand....who care? Get a life and a sense of humor.

On the other hand.... just another example of the double standard so frequently employed in our society.

If it was boys "dissing" girls, god would we ever hear about it!!

Oh and what HORRORS do they face from the girls now? What are those terrible girls doing to those poor fragile boys that have you fearing for their very sanity. No freaking plan is needed. Just for you to chill out with the reverse political correctness. Puhhhlease.

What girl power movement is that? The one that traded the husband as patriarch for the government and nameless, faceless taxpayers as patriarch?

American men make some of the best husbands on the planet. They truly do view women as equal and have for a long, long time. Too bad so many of them have to go looking outside the country for decent wife material.

Good t-shirt for girls would read: '...so stupid they can be talked out of their virginity twice with the same line.'

I work w/a bunch of male bashers. They are so divorced from their femininity their beginning to sprout ear hair.

My very conservative daughter was subjected to so many liberal profs during her college years. One of her degrees is in Political Science, so she heard all the liberal rants, ad naseum. Many times she one of the only, (if not the only) conservative voice in the classroom.
I think teachers and professors should keep their political views to themselves as much as possible, and simply teach the curriculum.
